Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Considering all the hype I'm really struggling to finish it. About 60% through and the original premise of the book seems to have got lost in repeated sentences and immature ramblings. I don't mind dislikeable main characters but the story isn't going anywhere. #FruitFly #books #queerlit 020
Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Word to the wise... Avoid this new #TitanBooks #TheCrow book. Calling it a definitive history is a total lie. It's missing Salvation, Wicked Prayer, Stairway to Heaven, while the City of Angels pages are all storyboards. They evidently didn't get image clearance for Perez or even the movie poster! 000
Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 10/08/2026#theendofoakstreet Poor casting, poor CGI, takes ages to get going. Nonsensical character choices, conflicting family drama with dino action. Misguided humour. Feminism that's forced at times. A Spielberg wannabe that can't decide if it's for kids/adults so appeals to neither. 2/5 (at very best!) 🦖💀 000
Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 10/06/2026#TipToe. Poor besides great acting. Character choices and mini speeches were unbelievable, and only there to serve the ending we already saw in the opening. In an age of safeguarding and cancel culture, they were one dimensional avatars for extremist issues. RTD - where was the positivity and hope!? 100
Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 08/06/2026New addition to the bookshelf... @ajwestauthor.bsky.social latest. I also had an enjoyable evening at #QueerLit #Manchester listening to a discussion on queer history and the challenges of running an #LGBTQIA bookshop. Looking forward to starting it! #Queer #Pride 🌈 020
Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 03/06/2026Honest review... First half is a solid 3/5 and then it elevates to 4/5 in the second half. Great action sequences, daft humour, a very 80's rock soundtrack and Skeletor is seriously well realised. Oh and several end credits scenes. It really is the cartoon come to life and I really enjoyed it! 4/5 000
Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 30/05/2026#Backrooms As a feature debut by a 19yr old it's seriously impressive and I liked the score but as a horror fan, the actual storyline felt derivative of novel House of Leaves, and other films. Plus, I thought Exit 8 explored similar themes but better. Still worth a look if you liked that film. 3/5 000

Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 27/02/2026#Scream7 🔪 is better than 5+6, but the new cast has no characterisation and are mere fodder. The legacy characters are nicely used and #NeveCampbell is always a great watch. But it's all so pointless and the killer reveal is very poor! It's just about a 3/5 for me, but I think we could end it here. 010

Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 05/02/2026Currently working my way through @dutchmarich.bsky.social #HorrorintheHighDesert series as recommended by #PlanetCHH on YouTube. The first hooked me in and the story has evolved throughout them (so far). As low budget, faux documentaries go this is up there with Blair Witch and Last Broadcast imho. 120
Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 05/02/2026Picked this up in my local @waterstones.bsky.social last night. I recall @criminolly.bsky.social recommending it on his YouTube channel ages ago. It's a US import (£17) and it doesn't appear to be available via a UK publisher. Can't wait to start it as the reviews online also appear very positive 📚🤓 120

Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 14/01/2026Watching #HeatedRivalry now it's on #NowTV. The reviews are crazy. It's a softcore gay porn/romance fantasy for straight women with a terrible script and unbelievable actions/timelines/narrative beats. Everyone is going mad for the gay romance/sex, go watch #QAFUSA - 25 years old and still relevant! 110

Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 03/12/2025All I can say is read the book it's based on - Box Hill. #Pillion is so far removed from it, which is a major disappointment. It plays a gay BDSM relationship for laughs and like a generic hetero-fairytale. But worst of all it lacks authenticity and instead presents a toxic, abusive relationship 2/5 010

Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 13/11/2025Just watched @runningmanmovie.com 🏃🏻 It's a good 30 mins too long, the script is ropey at times and it's not satirical or comical enough BUT I still enjoyed it. It's a big, daft popcorn movie that has some decent set pieces and a fun central performance by #GlenPowell. It's a 3.5/5 from me! 010
Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 03/11/2025While technically an achievement, I can't be the only one that thinks this looks downright creepy!? Even if they've based his look on the early sketches of #Paddington, could they not have softened his features a little bit? It's like a constant uncanny valley moment... 000

Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 25/10/2025Just watched #GuillermodelToro #Frankenstein. Once got past the fact it's camp gothic, rather than dark gothic I really enjoyed it. #JacobElordi is excellent as The Monster, the cinematography is sumptuous and it's a (relatively) faithful adaptation of the original novel. Worth seeing at the cinema! 000
Strange Days @fursome79.bsky.social · 20/10/2025Had a folk horror day. Some intentional, some not so... I went to see the site of The Wicker Man and we also went for a walk in the Wood of Cree.
