Finally did a bit more painting. 😀 Probably nearly done now, just a few details to pick out, and then the bases. ##Nerdlings #MiniaturePainting #Miniatures #KitBash #Warhammers

I've got a source in the administration, apparently a former president's son was a drug addict, sold paintings, and had a laptop! BIGLY NEWS! 😬

I'm no expert by any stretch, but I'm hoping to launch a game at some point so I've talked to other who know a lot more than me. Crowdfunding now involves outside management and promotion that goes against the idea of the funding model and stifles independents who can't afford the costs upfront.

funnytwittername.bsky.social @funnytwittername.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

I think alot of it was the collapse in publishing in general, no-one was will to pay upfront for the time it took to make a product and very few can afford to pay those costs themselves. Crowdfunding seems to be going the same way unfortunately. 🤷‍♂️

I think I had rizz once, but it could've just been a cold.

Rizz is wasted on the younglings. 🤷‍♂️

From what I can tell they've never worked out how to make money/cover costs at least, since streaming took over from DVD/Blu-ray sales. Cinema numbers are way down, so there seems less appetite to take chances on smaller productions. 🤷‍♂️

funnytwittername.bsky.social @funnytwittername.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

THEY keep coming up with words? 🤷‍♂️

Help me Captain Pike, I'm severely injured. The only way I can be saved is if you let me punch you in the nuts.

The purple and black looks really good together. 😀

I'm Captain Space Space of the Space Class spaceship Space, known as 'Space' to my friends. I space space like no-one has spaced before.

I like entity, I've used it myself. Finding unique terminology is definitely something I wasn't expecting to think so much about in game design. I use 'Individual' a lot. 😀

funnytwittername.bsky.social @funnytwittername.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

That's the impression I get. Crowdfunding is my only option, there's no way I can afford all the other services which are now supposedly essential around that. I just have to try my hardest and hope I can break through. 😀

As someone who is going to be trying to fund and sell a game at some point, this stuff terrifies me. 😮 I'm hoping I can do it, but from my research it's getting increasingly difficult. 🤞

I totally agree, for my system, I'm trying to encourage character development through successful checks, I view the system as a way of guiding play. But there's so many other ways to approach it, that's why I really enjoying the process of creating my own system. 😀

I wanted XP gained to represent the players getting better, but some classes gain XP when they use certain abilities even if they don't succeed to represent learning by just using those abilities. 😀

I'm working on a system at the moment where players gain XP by succeeding in checks and can spend the XP on stat boosts, skills etc. There's a few limitations, but I want the players do develop in ways that suit them to build really unique characters. 😀

You hold it in your own hand, and stab it into your heart. Can also be used to write letters, numbers, etc.

Not done much painting lately, but got a bit more done on these. Still a bit messy, but starting to look like something. 😀 #Nerdlings #Miniatures #MiniaturePainting #KitBash #Warhammers

1st bit of painting for while. 😮 This might be my favourite stage, first colours on, I don't have to worry about being tidy, they start to come alive. I like the Rebel Lord's coat, and the Space Marine armour could be a bit darker. 😀 #Nerdlings #MiniaturePainting #Miniatures #KitBash #Warhammers
