Sharing my wing tutorial for bluesky people! It's light and focuses on propatagium, something that I often found missing when working on client designs. Lastly, check the Alt. text for some commentary. Hope it's helpful! #artsky #tutorial #art #wings #sciart

The image shows oversimplified and idealised wings. Great for some fantasy settings but the bone structure is totally awry.

This image focuses on the leading edge of the wing - the propatagium. It's a membrane that fills the gap between the wrist and shoulder, creating a nice aerodynamic shape.

Final image shows skeletal schematic of the flying vertebrates forelimb: the bat, the bird, the pterosaur. With a funny comparison to the human hand.
