One of the more interesting #GameDev ideas we came up with in #PlatinumKill is the implementation of AI / helper characters. They're controllers just like a keyboard or a gamepad. The AI controller can assess what is going on in the game and then it presses buttons to move, shoot, etc.

Updated the cat boss in #PlatinumKill so that its wave shots destroy the player's shots. Planning to look back thru the game and see if other enemy shots make sense to do this with too... like the Sun Boss lasers. #GameDev #IndieDev #RetroGaming #PixelArt #MonoGame

Wish we had something more fun to share, just working on getting the #SteamDeck port of #PlatinumKill working right. It runs nice but #Steam API isn't working. So just banging our heads a bit lately. Probably something simple and once it works we'll be golden.
