Currently moving to a new apartment. Hired a moving company to help make the move smooth… it was not smooth, not because of the movers themselves but whomever that’s behind logistics/planning #ThisIsHell

Hi #gamedev gang, it's been a while~ I'm making a #2D game where you can rotate the "world" & before the rotation was 0 to 100 immediately and I didn't like it So instead, I made it a lot more gradual, so that the player has a lot more control over the rotation~ #madewithgodot #indiedev

Hi @tuta.com I've been trying to log into my email account after not using it for a bit but every time I try to log in I get "incorrect log in credentials" despite using a password manager I try to reset the account using recovery code but I still get "incorrect" thing, why is this happening?

I haven't been doing any #gamedev at all for a while but that have been because I've been reworking my #portfolio! I've ditched Wix as a platform and use GitHub Pages, which have been.... a journey to say the least! But here it is, my new portfolio! samueleinheri.com

Question to #gamedev & #indiedev people I have a #portfolio website/domain that ends in .com that I've had for over 10 years, it's tied to Wix & I'm getting tired of their services bc it being slow among others Would it be a good idea to get a domain that ends in .net & "dump" my old one?

question to #godot #gamedev developers: How do you deal with displaying how to control your game inputs in a settings menu? I have a vertical menu, where at the moment, I have a bunch of buttons where the intended inputs will go (to show how to control the game) but how do you do it? #UI

A YouTube creator built the perfect alternative for anyone switching from Photoshop to GIMP. This free and open-source patch turns GIMP into a Photoshop-like editor with a familiar tool layout, keyboard shortcuts, more canvas space, and fully local files
A colorful interface showcases PhotoGIMP, designed to mimic Photoshop with familiar tools and shortcuts for users transitioning from Adobe.

I don't think you understand how happy I'm with this but in my #godot project, changes done to sliders carries over between scenes with the help of auto-loads! #madewithgodot #gamedev #indiedev #UI #sfx #ITWORKS

So this time around in my #godot project, I've made it so that you can access a Pause menu that ACTUALLY pauses the game & the player can return to the Main Menu from here and back to the game again I'm pretty pleased with this~~ #madewithgodot #gamedev #indiedev #ui #2D #paused

In my #godot project where I try to navigate inside a Scroll Container using a gamepad but whenever I use follow focus to move up/down in my scroll container, it doesn't go all the way down/up and it's driving me nuts Is there any way to make a container scrollable using gamepad good?

It's not done yet but in my #godot prototype, I've added some content to my Settings menu #madewithgodot #gamedev #indiedev #UI #resolutiontime

(1/2) You know what I would love to see in #godot? A control node for "Spin Buttons" (like in the settings menu for Mouse: P.I. For Hire), where you have a set of options horizontally? There's Spin Boxes in Godot but digits only, so having something like this would be neat #gamedev #indiedev

Oh my god... I think I'm starting to understand how to use Control nodes and #UI in #godot what's happening to me???... /s #gamedev #indiedev

So I've been hashing out the start of the main menu in #godot There's been quite a bit of brute force in the style of "Shove cube through the triangular hole" but hey I think it's the start of something? #madewithgodot #gamedev #indiedev #2D #UI #IHaventClawedMyFaceOffYet

Sam @functionsam.bsky.social · 28/06/2026
So here's an iteration of my previous "menu indicator" in #godot Because in Godot 4.7, you can offset transforms on Control/UI elements, so whenever a button in my #prototype is being "focused", the scale increases slightly. #madewithgodot #gamedev #indiedev #2D #platformer #MoreGears

Sam @functionsam.bsky.social · 27/06/2026
Sorry about the quality and frame rate but I somehow, managed to make a decent menu "indicator" in #godot This might seem like such a small deal but making #UI in game engines is so much challenging than it needs to be, but I'm fairly pleased with this~~ #madewithgodot #gamedev #indiedev #TurnLeft

here's a quick and dirty one, in my #godot project, I've added some looping falling #SFX and a landing impact SFX. It certainly helps with communicating what's going on inside the game. #gamedev #indiedev #2D #platformer #madewithgodot #FREEFALLING

In my #godot project this time around, it's all about camera transitions between "room" to "room", where the camera zoom adapts depending on the "room" itself #madewithgodot #gamedev #indiedev #2D #platformer #SayCheese

Sam @functionsam.bsky.social · 14/06/2026
It's been a wee bit but in my #godot prototype I've added some "rotating" #sfx to the player, it's very much... jank but at the moment it gets the point across, also a better-ish representation of the #UI when the player rotates the level #MadeWithGodot #gamedev #indiedev #2D #platformer #ItSpins

Sam @functionsam.bsky.social · 07/06/2026
Am I the only one, while doing #gamedev, that think it's so damn hard to design #UI? and esecially in #godot? It seems so much harder than it needs to be?

Sam @functionsam.bsky.social · 06/06/2026
So in my #godot prototype, I've added some Tweens, a number that displays how much the level has rotated in degrees and some SFX (I'm not super pleased with it but it works) #madewithgodot #gamedev #indiedev #SFX #2D #platformer #holySFXBatman

Today I wanted to implemented a state machine using an enum in my #godot project and I think it works? While perhaps "small" implementation, I'm quite pleased with it #gamedev #indiedev #madewithgodot #2D #platformer #prototyping

Sam @functionsam.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
Here's an early implementation of rotating the world in my #godot prototype. You can only rotate the world when you press a specific button & then the world rotates around the player. #gamedev #indiedev #madewithgodot #2D #platformer #InsertSpecificDaftPunkSongHere

So this may seem pretty insignificant, but I had some issues in my #godot project where I hade problems with my character (being a gear) moving on a "gear rack" as it's rotating. I think I've solved it? #madewithgodot #gamedev #indiedev #2d #platformer #OHMYGODITSPINS

Sam @functionsam.bsky.social · 25/05/2026
So in my #godot project, I want to be able to rotate a part of a level & not have the player move around "involuntarily" when there isn't any input from the controller There are moments when I want the player to be able to move but at the moment, it's a bit wonky #madewithgodot #gamedev #indiedev
062
Sam @functionsam.bsky.social · 24/05/2026
In my #godot project, I've managed to implement so that the player can't move away as easily when the player is connected to a "gear rack", pay attention to "Input X", because before, the player would typically fall off. #madewithgodot #gamedev #indiedev #2d #platformer #holyvideoeditingbatman

Sam @functionsam.bsky.social · 23/05/2026
So in my #godot project, the player can now "disengage" from a "gear rack". And connecting to the "points" (the blue circles with crosses and a white vertical line) is more more for-loop friendly! #madewithgodot #gdscript #gamedev #indiedev #platformer #IpromiseIwillneverletgoJack

So in my test level, I added slightly more complex level layout in #godot & I thought I would have some issues but... it kinda works? There are some issues with sharper 90 degree-ish corners but still, it kinda works!! #gamedev #indiedev #madewithgodot #platformer #anglesangleseverywhere

While refactoring some code in my #godot project and I have a function that applies a "magnetic" force which enables the gear character to move on the "gear racks". In physics process, the gear moved on it's own & by changing the order of that method, it... kinda works? #gamedev #indiedev #huh

Some more progress or "poking arounds" in #godot I have this "gear" character move along this set of "gear racks" (I think they're called?) & I'm trying to figure out a simple method of making the movement smooth-ish Anyone have any ideas? More context in Alt Text #gamedev #gdscript

A while back I installed a new GPU, going from an RTX 2060 to an #AMD Radeon RX 9060XTm I don't think I've ever been that nervous during the installation process, so nervous I started sweating. I need a new monitor now but the biggest difference? My PC is a lot less noisy #pcgaming

Is there a way to track games made in #godot? I know Mega Crit pivoted during development to use Godot with Slay the Spire but it would be neat to see what games (in a list) have been made in the godot engine? #gamedev

So nothing major, just for funsies, I manually placed some "gear teeths" for my gear character to move up on (that also has collision) because I wanted to see what happens. And it works... kinda okay? It's janky of course but still, it KINDA works? #gamedev #godot #indiedev #2d #janky #justhanging
