Nothing to see here, just GitHub Copilot doing end-to-end testing of the MS-RDPEI extension in IronRDP by connecting with ironrdp-agent and sending pen 🖊️input events to draw a smiley 🙂 in paint and confirm the result with a screenshot 📷. It did all of that autonomously 👇

Holy shit, y'all. When I said it was expensive, I didn't know USA expensive. I just got a 3 month supply for €1,250. You could fly over and still save money.
Dark-themed screenshot of a two-column pricing table comparing the approximate monthly cash price of a four-week supply of Mounjaro without insurance by location. The table lists: Belgium, lower doses: €232.80 (about $266); Belgium, 7.5 mg: around €326 (about $373), with a note that the exact Belgian public price is not consistently published online; United States, cash/discount price: about $1,087; United States, average retail price: about $1,348; U.S. manufacturer list price: roughly $1,080–$1,112. The comparison emphasizes that prices shown for Belgium are much lower than typical U.S. prices.

I’m on it too and love it! The health benefits are magnificent. I have hashimotos and it helps my inflammation. My wife’s blood pressure is down. We’re both losing weight at about the same rate as you. I’m lucky if I can stay on it forever. Just need to afford it.

I'll be releasing the source code once it's done, but Sol said this:
Dark-themed technical documentation explains how the Wishbringer interactive-fiction game runs in a modern browser: a React interface sends commands through the RemGlk bridge to the Bocfel Z-machine interpreter compiled to WebAssembly, which reads and updates the original .z3 story file. A numbered list expands the process, noting that Bocfel executes the game inside the browser sandbox, translates classic text-adventure operations into JavaScript data, and lets React update the transcript, map, score, artwork, and controls; the final paragraph compares the .z3 file to a program for a fictional 1980s computer rather than modern x86, ARM, or JavaScript code.

Love it, thank you for the feedback. The consistency is challenging but concrete examples help (I've done about 3 rounds so far). You know what is SO COOL? This actually runs Infocom's zmachine under the hood, so Sol had to check if it was possible to save state and it is. Just revert snapshot.

This one sales guy, Stephan Baere, I knew 25 years ago, I could still hear him say [PERSON]? THIS IS IS STEPHAN BAERE, every time someone said the name "Stephan" which is so common in Europe. He'd yell it across the office. Looked him up the other day and he passed being a hero to his dog 💔

We had a shared password: benhur. Worked for everything except the mainframe which.. if you requested an account, you got sysadmin and could see all incl hardware and worst of all, the billing rates of each attorney, which was practically IP. I reported it but “only you could figure that out” so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yesssss! Did you also have SQL Server 2008 Administration in Action by Rod Colledge? That was my other favorite book later on. I wrote to him and asked if he'd be writing any other books and he said no, writing books is impossibly hard. Which is true. Especially ones of the caliber he wrote.

I had the series' next iteration on my bookshelf when I lived in San Francisco back in 2006/2007. I always preferred the single author versions of Wrox though. Didn't remember having a magazine rack, I love it. I miss SQL Server Magazine so much. It was often over my head but I loved it, still.
Three black modular shelving units stand against a white wall beneath a decorative textile wall hanging. The shelves hold books, framed photos, storage boxes, folded blankets, and a few small figurines, while the rightmost unit is mostly empty, suggesting the room is being organized or rearranged.A black leather armchair sits beside a black bookshelf near a bright window. The shelves are filled mostly with computer and technology books, including programming, software development, and IT reference titles, with an orange folded blanket, a blue storage box, and a large fish-shaped sculpture on top, creating a cozy reading nook centered around a technical book collection.

Found this gem my friends made of me when I was 20 years old, clowning how much I loved Robert Vieira's SQL Server books. Those Wrox books were the first that spoke to the audience like coworkers and not like robots ala Addison-Wesley. Now I love @manning.com, which is casual but accurate.
Black-and-white meme styled like a vintage programming book cover. A smiling person with long curly hair wearing an “I ♥ SQL” shirt looks upward while a thought bubble contains a stern-looking man’s portrait, implying they are thinking about him. The lower half mimics a Wrox book cover with the large title “PROFESSIONAL SQL Server 2000 Programming,” a Wrox logo, and the name “chrissy,” parodying old technical books and joking about nostalgia for SQL Server and admiration or fixation on a database expert.

Working as designed 🫡
Screenshot of a dark-themed terminal or editor showing a project status update in light blue monospace text. It says all four bots are now active, with bullet points explaining that Lane B (Opus) has been reassigned from idle work to a backup database task, Lanes C and D (Fable) are progressing through assigned jobs, Lane A (Fable) is handling codex and datetime updates and will retry another task after an agent starts, and coordination has been consolidated into a canonical `migration/comms/BOARD.md` file with work now running from a dedicated clone to avoid conflicts in the main working tree. The tone is a concise engineering handoff indicating everything is organized and nothing has been left unfinished.

Linus Torvalds, my man! *finger gun emoji*
per linus torvalds: I realize that some people really dislike AI, but this is an area where I'm willing to absolutely put my foot down as the top-level maintainer.

Linux is not one of those anti-AI projects, and if somebody has issues with that, they can do the open-source thing and fork it.

Or just walk away.

AI is a tool, just like other tools we use. And it's clearly a useful one.

It may not have been that "clearly" even just a year ago, but it's no longer in question today.

There are other questions around AI (like what the economy of it will actually look like in the end), but "is it useful" is no longer one of those questions. Anybody who doubts that clearly hasn't actually used it.

Yes, it can also be a somewhat painful tool, both for maintainer workloads and just from a "it keeps finding embarrassing bugs" standpoint.

But the solution is not to put your head in the sand and sing "La La La, I can't hear you" at the top of your voice like some people seem to do.

new manager just dropped
Dark terminal screenshot of Claude Code v2.1.211 running Opus 4.8 with high effort in the dbatools repository. A long prompt says four AI bots are handling a migration but often sit idle, so Claude must authoritatively coordinate three Fable bots and one Opus bot, have Codex check their work, and review and commit everything urgently but with high quality; Claude replies, “I’ll get oriented fast, then take command of coordination. Let me pull the key state files and load the coordination tools in parallel,” giving the scene a humorously intense middle-manager-for-AI-agents tone.

Having a whole lot of fun this week with Fable and Sol. Sol I'm reserving for front-end work, so I've updated @mutesky.app finally! And now I'm building a Dragon Quest-like front-end for Infocom's Wishbringer! The reimagination of the original map took my breath away 🤯
Hand-drawn fantasy map titled "Postal Zones Festeron, Anharia & Vicinity," shown with a letter and number grid overlaid. The map depicts a coastal settlement with roads, scattered buildings, a central fountain, wooded areas, fields, and a church on a rocky island connected to the mainland by a narrow bridge, with water surrounding the eastern and northern edges and a compass rose in the lower right.Pixel art landscape viewed from behind a young traveler standing beside a loaded bicycle on a hill, holding a glowing egg and looking over a winding road through a cozy seaside village. A lighthouse rises from a rocky island at sunset on the left, while a towering dark castle beneath a swirling purple vortex dominates the distant hills on the right, creating a contrast between peaceful countryside and looming fantasy danger.
