Scrubbed down some Iris roots this afternoon. I removed dirt but not the skin yet. This is what Orris is. Orris is Iris root. I will peel this, sun dry it, age it and use it as a fragrance material. These roots are in my perfume Ariose. My sumptuous, “flormande”.

The first fragrance I authored for my company fūm. Ariose is a sophisticated, "flormand" and is actually the only fragrance in my signature collection to contain vanilla. Notes include: Amaretto, absolutes of rose, carnation & tonka bean anchored in a bed of patchouli, genuine iris butter and musk.
