Players are reporting issues making notes in Squardle. The problem seems to be for users who've upgraded to iOS 27. Until I can fix it, a workaround is to click the *edges* of the gray boxes to make a notes instead of the centers.

Changelog for Squardle v2.013 Bugfix for users who got stuck on a broken game state of the April Fools board, not allowing them to make guesses or start a new game. The bug was caused by being on a week-old version of the game on April 1st, making one or more guesses and then reloading. #GameDev

Weekly Squardle was unfairly hard this week! Who do I complain to? I managed to get lucky and get the third column on my third guess, so I went try-hard mode to try to get my 4th weekly game ever with 9 remaining. Then NOTHING worked out. 5 remaining isn't bad, but after that start it *felt* bad!

Squardle is a Wordle-like game where instead of solving a single word you solve a grid of words. This means that in addition to green (correctly placed letter), yellow (in row), and black (not in solution) you can also get hints that are red (in column), orange (in both row and column), and while (not in row or column, but elsewhere on the board).

I've been getting some mixed signals about the new game mode that's unlocked by solving the Daily Squardle added. Some players are saying that it has bad replay value. At the same time I'm not use how that can be true given the data of how many times it's been played already!

Squardle XXXXS is a new game mode that uses a 1x1 board. You get 10 guesses to find the 1-letter word that's going both vertically and horizontally across the board. As solving the only square always mean that you've won the game there are no bonus guesses to collect.

Speaking of the game: You just lost The Game.

If you tried to play the daily Squardle in the past few minutes you might have noticed that something *really* didn't work as intended. If you've yet to make a guess on the obviously borked board, refresh the page and the problem should fix itself. Otherwise, I'm working on a fix!

Squardle just got an update: fubargames.se/squardle/?wh... It has two new game modes, as well as a few new quality of life features. The new modes are "Squardle 34" and "Squardle Distance 34". Both use a new 34-square board layout, but the latter also completely changes how the hints function!

I'm aware that the Weekly Squardle isn't loading. I have a hot fix ready, but my internet went down about an hour ago. So I'm having a hard time pushing it live. I might have to fix this from my laptop as it can probably connect from my phone as a hotspot. But my hotfix isn't on my laptop... *sigh*

If you’re playing on a device with a physical keyboard, it’s a bit too easy to not pay attention to the on-screen keyboard and thus type in a letter that’s already black or dark gray there.

This leads to feel bad moments. Also, “Can you avoid pressing the letters that are marked on the keyboard?” isn’t supposed to be the skill-testing part of playing Squardle. For this reason the next big update will include a feature that also temporarily darkens the squares on the board where you’ve typed in black or dark gray letters. Note that you can of course still guess words with those letters.

If you dislike this change, it will be optional. So it can be turned off in the settings.

Another new game mode just entered the Patreon supporter Beta: Squardle Distance 34! It completely changes how hints work in Squardle. Instead of getting info about rows and columns for your guessed letters you now get to know how far away from where they should go you've guessed them. #GameDev

The 4-letter made mode Squardle XS released on April Fool's. It's been less than 3 weeks, so I'm really happy that to announce that my wonderful Patreon supporters can already start testing out the *next* new game mode! Its currently called "Squardle 34", due to the 34 squares of its board. #GameDev

The Squardle Obscure update also included a very subtle quality of life fix to make misclicks while making a note for a square less likely for non-mobile players: It changed the input for starting to make a note from onclick to onmousedown. #Squardle #GameDev 1/x

The Squardle version that's currently being Beta tested by my lovely Patreon supporters just got an update. They're testing an update that will add "Squardle Obscure" as a game mode. I just added "Squardle Obscure 25" to it. Here's the new part of the"Other game modes" page for the Beta version:

A page with options for configuring and starting Squardle Obscure. It has options for "Board type" (21, 24, or 25 squares), "Max common words" with a dropdown showing the default value of 2, on/off toggles for including "Brutally obscure words" and "Words ending in S" (for regular plurals and verbs in third-person singular present tense).
