Three oxcart toys in different shades of blue

Three small oxcarts made out of different colored blue paper. Besides color theyre each identical to each other and are arranged at right angles from each other. The background is white printer paper held together by blue tape.

This one I dont have any intended meaning for. I saw antique toys of ox carts and just found them charming. I actually made a bunch of these but i only used the blue ones cause they looked better together

Dire's Hairbrush

A paper sculpture of a pink hairbrush filled with white pieces of paper resembling the hair of my fursona. The background is white printer paper taped together. The whole sculpture and background is held together by small rectangles of blue masking tape

Ive been thinking about sculpture lately. I dont have a lot of space or energy to do it anymore but i still love it. I guess this is an effort to make something physical without draining myself too much. I dont want it to be a sad piece though. I think its kind of frightening to be honest. I was originally making this to be a reference to paint from but i like it more as a photograph. I dont have any meaning behind this one. Kind of a gross poppish way of imagining a mundane object that ill never really know. But yeah :)

He likes to stick his tongue through the gaps :)

Two drawings of my rat sonas head. The top left an almost completely frontal view. His eyes are kinda drifting off. Not much thinking going on. His tongue is sticking iut the gap of his teeth and is licking his cheek. The second drawing is a side view where he's looking in your direction. His tongue is sticking out of the gap again but this time hanging down with a drop of drool dripping off

Most people think my rat is missing teeth. He actually just has the rodent gap between his incisors and molars

A closeup drawing of my ratsonas mouth. Its being held open by two or three gloved hands and shows his yellow teeth and dirty mouth. Theres a clear gap visible between his front incisors and his molars. Much like real rodents. His mouth is wet and dripping.

A sketchy drawing of my sona sitting and wearing a shirt that says "is this guy bothering you?" With an arrow pointing up. There are of course some stains on the shirt. Pit stains too cause even at my most harmless im still a perv. Thats not the point of this though. He has a sleepy face and a far off look. Its uncertain if hes thinking but there are no outward signs of it

the angel visits me again at my bedside and im not going to die

A painting of a paper angel coming to the bedside of a dog. The whole scene is made out of white paper and a few pieces of yellow tape. It's a small room filled with shadows and reflected color. The image is a reference to a painting I did in 2022 with the same subject. I used to think the angel was announcing my death to me. I made the wings cardboard in the original so that I wouldn't have to believe the angel was real. Now it's all paper. The whole thing is small and ridiculous. Most things are hazy except my scribbling and a few edges. I don't know if the scribbling is helpful to the image but it reminds me of how I used to make art. I'd spend hours carefully painting and then deface it in the last few minutes. When I made the original I assumed I would die that month. It was strange remaking this piece four years later. I thought there would be a new understanding of my old self but I wasn't really thinking about anything. Even now the symbols don't mean much to me. It's all just paper and I'm not going to die. Thank you for reading :)

patient contact and the installation of a camera in the eye

This is a drawing of three rat heads over a roll of artificial turf. Each head is a copy of the first, which is in the style of anatomical drawings showing the inside of the left eye and the right half of the brain. On the first head the eye is split open to reveal a small spy camera with four wires disappearing into the ocular nerve. On the brain there is a small transmitter circuit. The next head has a tinker toy structure on the brain with a part looking like an antenna sticking out. In the eye is a green tinker toy rod. On the last head there are ants feeding on a small part of the brain and crawling through the ocular nerve to get to a stash of eggs hidden in one half of the eye. All of this is on a black background

black mountain, home and body From august 2022

An eyeless bat shines light on a house-headed dog. The dog is lying back on a table, his head surrounded by a childs drawing of a fence

f. t. dire @ftdire.bsky.social · 16/06/2026

A monochrome scene made of thin black and white hatching. Theres a doll-like dog figure who has fallen apart in the doorway. His head is detached from his neck and his arms are detaching from the elbows. Hes clinging onto a blanket being pulled off a bed. It seems like he's being pulled out of the room. The bedroom is ghostly and unclear. Theres a window in the background illuminating the room.

what ppl dont realize about my sona

There are two of the same drawing of my sonas head. The one on the left is normal and the one on the right is grayed out in parts to highlight my fursonas receding hairline. There's a dotted line around the hairline and a label "receding hairline" that points to it

Concepts for Doghouses #2

An image of a sculpture that's two cage-like rooms connected by a stairway. In the upper room, there is a plastic fox figurine. The sculpture is small and made of balsa wood sticks and cardboard.

Im trying now to slowly give myself a vocabulary for these. First the bars and now stairs. As of now I want the pieces to be variations of the elements im slowly introducing. I also may not write about each of these pieces but I'll definitely write about some of them as i figure things out

Concepts for Doghouses #1

An image of a sculpture I made of a cage-like room occupied by a canine figurine and a ladder. The building and ladder are made out of balsa wood and the base is a square of cardboard.

It takes me a long time to process things that I make. I think my opinion on this piece will change the more of these I construct and look at. I've been thinking a lot about homes lately. I'm in the process of moving now. How will I live? How will the place I'm in decide that for me? What abilities of mine are given by a space and which can be taken away? Even in rooms of my imagination, how will I choose my parameters? If a room has to have walls, what spaces will I choose to be inaccessible? These are the questions I'm starting this project with. Hopefully by the end I'll have better questions.

Why they're dog houses is another thing I'll hopefully learn. A reason besides the fact that I'm a furry. I've always thought of dog houses as a funny thing. To build a shelter to keep an animal safe while also keeping it away from you. It feels silly and cruel and maybe that's the reason. They're rooms that are outside, sheltered but also exposed. For now I just ask that you bear with me on this point.

As I was working on these pieces I found them becoming more and more political. The exact implications I hope I will also learn in time.

quote with ur RED red red red art ❤️

An abstract painting of a rat reclining on a white bed or possibly cloth. The belly of the rat is bloated and bloody, with intense reds and pale, fatty yellows. The figure has only one eye and no discernable legs. The right hand, painted in a cold blue-gray, is bent to the side. The other hand, painted in green, is twisted and split open into many fingers. The rat's ribs (or something resembling them) are visible through the stomach under two swirls for breasts. In the background, there is a wooden table with a bowl and cut flowers. The legs of the table are bent and skewed.

A linocut print of two figures. The one on the left looks tired and unsure. It looks up gloomily to the figure on the right who is silhouetted by clawing hash marks

some nice cat and mouse

Multiple vignettes of my bloodied rat fursona cobbled together into one big mess of an image. From the top down theres a catsona's face. Underneath is that same cat punching me in the head. To the bottom left is my sona bloody and bruised, looking pretty angry. And finally, to the right if that is the cats hands opening my mouth wide to take a look at the damage with a speech bubble reading "let me see."

A drawing of my fursona sweating his ass off in this heat. He's wiping the back of his neck with a towel and pulling his sticky tank top away from his body.
