The full New State Pension is currently £241.30 a week The basic State Pension is just £184.90 a week. Yet we’ve spent the whole year, hearing calls for the annual increase in the State Pension to be reduced because it’s considered ‘too generous’. Honestly, you couldn’t make it up.

It’s a good job the pensioners agreed to take the hit, because it would have been a real shame to have to tax the billionaires.

Today, the energy price cap is going up 4%, adding another £60 to the typical annual bill. So much for breathing space Andy.

So under Labour energy price cap went up £200 last week and now Burnham gives back £42 starting in October for a year. This leaves people £158 out of pocket.

Twenty years ago Lord Sainsbury gave Labour millions, got a peerage and a ministerial job, failed to disclose a £2m loan, apologised and carried on giving. £18.5 million and counting. They are all the same.
