I’ve been a bit quiet — flu, fatigue and a surprise pre-op call meant I needed to pause and breathe. Taking things one day at a time now: resting, crocheting, gently planning, and holding onto a quiet hope for what’s ahead. A few new bits coming when I’m able.

I will never make items to sell for this reason. Pattern writing uses a very different part of my brain, and I get excited by the business side of things with that, but I like variety and being able to choose what is on my hook too much to ever turn my hands on crochet time into an income stream

They say challenges come in 3’s… in the last couple weeks my shoulder has decided to seriously ration my crochet time, we have had water coming through the downstairs ceiling, and now I have tonsillitis. I think it may be time to reassess the November to do list/q4 plan

He is very cute 🥰 love the muzzle and the teardrop shape feels very foxy. The white twisting looks like natural stitch drift to me (Ami moves the starting stitch to the right approx 1 st every 2 rounds, though can be more when you add in shaping)

A few days and a lot of slow stitching later… the pumpkins are finished. Started as a little creative rest when things didn’t go to plan — now it’s a cosy reminder that making simply for the love of crafting is its own kind of magic. Still needs framing, but I love how it turned out 🍂

The past few days have not gone to plan. Pain/headaches = website/crochet having to take a back seat. Thankfully, I’ve built a stash of crafty things and my embroidery hoop has come to the rescue. No deadlines, no pressure — just making for the love of crafting and enjoying one stitch at a time.

Ouch 😢 I normally have a cross stitch or embroidery nearby for if my wrists have had too much crochet. Thankfully it seems to be a different enough action that it gives me enough of a break, as I really can’t sit still without something to work on anymore

That’s a really good idea. I also find it helps with joining/making the first ST of the next row if you place a st marker under the first dc before you tighten the loop

My go to is to just play with stitches. I grab a stitch dictionary and try to work up some swatches in a stitch, yarn or technique I haven’t used before. No pressure to complete anything, just be curious. By the time I have done a few it normally gets ideas and excitement sparking again.
