The interior shows changes from season 1, there are many new inventions and some traces of damage on the walls. Ximena enters from the left, calling "Jayce? Am I--" Here we see a small panel 3, quick flashback to S1 act 2 Jayce looking back. Panel 4 and 5 are a shot of Jayce's hand on a blueprint sketch, then Ximena approaching him. "Oh, you're already working? You should be resting." Jayce replies, "I will, ma. Once this new brace design is done." Panel 6 to 8, Ximena says with a concerned expression, "I've made your bed. Panel 7, Viktor continues, right hand now holding his left wrist. It will be by MY own hands. I will redefine what I am." The word my is emphasised. We cut to Jayce, somewhere else, also deep in thought with his hand on his chin.

They make it further into the depths of Zaun, away from the crowds in the Lanes. None of the undercity is particularly well-maintained, but the area Viktor leads him to is even more run-down. Paint peels off the buildings; iron gates and railings are rusted. It takes them a while before they stumble onto another chapel, and even that one is smaller and humbler compared to those they had seen before. A sad piece of dirty material someone laid down is frayed at the ends, probably nibbled on by a desperate rat.
“Welcome to Emberfilt Alley, Jayce,” Viktor says with a sigh, setting the candles down on the shrine. He nods in the direction of a nearby construction: a pitiful, charred ruin of a house. “That was my childhood home.”
