One of the things you can do to be Less Wrong is to assiduously avoid groupthink. And a good way to do that, perhaps the most basic way, is to not have orgies with your co-workers and your employers. And to not live in a group compound with them. Just putting this out in the universe.

My subjective experience of this guy is that he fixes potholes and celebrates sports wins and hugs kids. So when he gets mad, I viscerally listen. The rhetoric of good government is a necessary precondition for persuading on social issues. I care about him because I feel like he cares about me.
