Good morning, my friend! Now back to our regularly scheduled month! ~Draconid Meteor Shower: early tonight & tomorrow! ~Hunter’s Moon: Oct. 25/26. ~Candy: mine. ~Music: only the Best on the World Classical Network (on free iHeart app/streaming WCRI 95.9, RI, or WSCS 90.9, NH) Join me from 6-10am!🎶

Cool facts about my favorite month: there are 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, a meteor shower, a full moon (Hunter’s Moon), Halloween on a Saturday (won’t happen again until 2037), Clocks fall back on Halloween.

I have a bag of sweet jelly pumpkins, and identical-looking sour jelly pumpkins. We like both so sometimes I mix them.

Good morning, my friend! Family outing at #TopsfieldFair, “America’s oldest agricultural fair.” You can zip through exhibits in 2 hours, or make it a full day by trying carnival games and rides. No “Farmer in the Dell,” but great musical accompaniment wherever you go today @ WCN/streaming WCRI 95.9!

Welcome sign says “America’s Oldest- Founded 1818.” Although touted as an agricultural fair, (show animals to fruits & vegetables), there is also a Midway with carnival games, rides and foods.

In the poultry barn is a temp-controlled incubator. We watched this little baby peck its way out of its shell!

Heaviest pumpkin, 1st Place, is 2,598 pounds! Nearby sign says the 1984 winning pumpkin was “only” 433 pounds! (I stood there calculating how many potential pies…)

I think the Celtics will play much better than media predictions. They'll have another successful regular season & make the playoffs. I hope the bench can be utilized more throughout the whole playoffs so the starters won't run out of gas like last year's playoffs. Most importantly, stay healthy.

The 15 consecutive wins (matched the 1946 club record) is more than a nice little run. They also had a stretch of 27-3 run and 32-5 run. It's a big improvement. Unfortunately, injuries caused the bad September & Postseason, in addition to bad Coaching when Coach subbed out Tolle & Gray too soon.

Fritz☘️ @fritzglc.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

It was nice to get Sonny Gray (tied best record in MLB), Ranger Suarez, Willson Contreras & Adley Rutschman. The Red Sox turned the season around with what looked like great trades that made for a fun end of June & July. Unfortunately, injuries & bad Coaching caused a bad September & postseason.

Good morning, my friend! Happy #FriYay! It’s 9/25, or 9-2-5, just like the movie/hit song titles. Cities across America are calling it #DollyDay or #DollyPartonDay in her honor. Here’s a #rose from #mygarden for today’s #respite break as it reminds me of her wigs! Let’s be extra kind in her memory.🩷

Dolly Parton shown in an office setting for her hit song “9 to 5” from the movie of that title!

Good morning, my friend! Happy #FriYay! We’re sharing #mygarden #respite w/the #Cricket family. Ricket (at my deck door), pointed to his wife Picket (examining #squash) & son Kicket, who was a bit jumpy. They calmed down when I played the WCN (iHeart app)/WCRI 95.9 stream. Don’t go buggy! Tune in!🪳🎶

Ricket Cricket & his family are visiting my garden this week.

Picket Cricket was complimenting my garden as she was examining my squashes. Well-mannered but a bit…antsy.

Kicket Cricket is their eldest son. He was a bit buggy and climbing walls. His jumpiness faded when he heard the World Classical Network coming out of my phone app.

Good morning, my friend! Talk about #ThrowbackThursday! Wrote a column in March about appraiser-restorer David Manzi. Went to see his brand new Woburn store yesterday. Top quality made-to-last things! Just like classical 🎶! For the best, World Classical Network (free iHeart app/WCRI 95.9 streaming!)

The office & restoration workshops.
22 Prospect Street, Woburn. Insurance & personal property appraisals and/or restoration of damaged artworks, furniture, pianos, even ship models!

The new store at 3 Green Street, Woburn. 2 floors of furniture, lamps, china, crystal, books, toys, pottery, artworks, cutlery, magazines…
(They just moved in and they already need a bigger place!)

Too many fine things to describe! Inventory changes daily. Turns out, when people want long-lasting quality, they go “old school…”
