Headplate. Easy, it’s cherry. Will probably have to purchase the veneer for the fret board, or make it myself out of hard maple (only stuff I have on hand hard enough to be a good fretboard) #woodworking #lutherie

I am going slow at this which historically has meant I am deep down nervous about it. Once I learn the real error bars I tend to move much faster (like about 5x faster literally) anyway hoping to glue this part together tomorrow morning #woodworking

As close to perfect as I could get. Had to shape the curve to try to get the contact to be as close to opposite the hole as possible. I’m sure there’s a way to construct that but I don’t know it. #woodworking

Trying to make cam levers. In an effort to really be able to crank it down… I got the “slope” of the spiral too aggressive and the cam slips backwards rather than staying in place 😔 #woodworking

made the second clamp. Much better than the first, but still has a lot of room for improvement. I could make another one just like this and be ok with it, but correctly locating the roll pins in the lower jaw is the one big improvable bit left. #woodworking

Made a cam clamp today. Extremely wonky but it was a prototype and also I used the wrong metal bar rod. I’ll probably make more soon and they’ll be better #woodworking

Made some fresh hide glue and formed it into gummies based on the kind of glue. Two kinds of glue that you might call liquid hide glue and hot hide glue. All made of grocery store gelatin. #woodworking
