The fact that Storm is the ONLY playable Black female character in Rivals says it all really. Mind you, they COULD have also given players: Shuri/Black Panther Okoye Starling Iron Heart Moon Girl Monet St. Croix Monica Rambeau Abena Adebayo Spider-Byte Misty Knight Spider-Zero

I think we definitely need more poc X-Men in the team especially, queer poc. Storm cannot carry, black people forever. She is important but she shouldn't shoulder the representation of all of us

Marvel/Dc doesn't lack black character, they lack the ability to use them atp. In the year of our lord most black characters are c-lister, I'm sorry having front liners like storm isn't enough(especially if you don't use well). How did I discover about terrific in 2025??? Wasted potential

If I had to conclude for now I'm mostly cautious but really open minded to anything midnight can give us, I don't have the highest hopes but I stay relativrly hopeful, the first issue was good so now let's see what the hickman gives us

-ororo and Kurt are definitely a highlight of the first issue for sure, I really am intrigued about everything about them. I doubt Pietro/ or alex will survive past like 5 issues. Overall the mystery is well set I think.

-the choice of having Scott be the last X-Men worried me a bit ( YES SAYING THIS AS A SCOTT FAN) but the mystery girl being hope makes it make sense more -i really hope that the marketing isn't a lie and that the 05 X-Men will actually matter it would do wonder for the story emotional beats.

I personally really like vampires, and vampire stories but I'm not sure it's everyone cup of tea(in the fanbases), which is why they will need to focus on core characters that will entice the viewer, and, a plot that is actually engaging, which I think will be the case (but still)

- the choice to release midnight as not an alternate take on the X-Men brand concepts and themes but instead just making pretty much a vampire au, is not bad in itself but when we compare with the absolute verse, and the tragic loss of ultimate X-Men it feels a bit sad I would say.

The X-Men are this expanding cast of characters, about everyone is someone favourite, killing is normal for horror media, but I desperately hope they don't fall into welle everything fucked everyone dies in super brutal ways for shock value, like other books like deceased/marvel zombies or ultimatum

Read midnight X-Men, I think it can be quite promising but some things activate my horror/ X-Men fan senses: -i think if midnight is supposed to be this horror book, they must not fall onto the worst trope of horror which is mindlessly killing characters, for no reason, especially with the X-Men

Watercolor drawing of Jean Grey (Phoenix) and Scott Summers (Cyclops), from the X-Men! They make a nice couple.

This especially for liberal artist. I think the worst part is when they justify that it's just their kinks. Like let's question that, why is it your fetish, why do you view mostly Amab black men as violent animals. Let's dissect that
