Last time climate activists blocked a major road (JSO, 2022) it turned into a press panic. People got sent down for years. The right, of course, was overjoyed, while we warned it was a deeply repressive escalation of enforcement. I wonder what the line will be if they apply the same rules here? -Rr

If Andy Burnham wants to cut electrcity prices he won't be doing so by adding more capacity unless he simultaneously blocks AI data centres from immediately swallowing it. A single facility planned in Devon, for example, is projected to use 1.5GW. Hinckley C nuclear plant will produce 3.26GW.

Interesting graph from Yougov this. Given the cohort which uses social media the least is *by far* more likely to have fallen into the Reform pipeline, it suggests that a (successful) social media ban for the young, far from discouraging radicalisation, would simply radicalise rightwards.

Looks like a 5-0 win for the Home Secretary on Palestine Action proscription in the Court of Appeals. PA are therefore still banned and arrests are commencing of placard holding supporters outside the Royal Courts of Justice. There will be an appeal to the Supreme Court but don't hold your breath.
