Another milestone today for Homo Ludens, 9k subscribers reached! 🙏 The Discord community is working on a revolutionary trial style livestream where I'll have to justify all my worse takes... 😔

Doing some 'homework' between meetings, trying Traces of Victory from @vucasimulations.bsky.social - so far so good, small footprint, simple rules, great production and a lot of cool decisions.

Sunday game of The War of the Ring is becoming sort of a ritual. A Tolkien mass? ☦️ ⚔️

As I'm preparing for a top 5 block wargames stream with @drcrossbows.bsky.social, Candice and @volko.bsky.social, I'm re-exploring some games to consider...

I have the second edition, with the crazy puzzle board, one of my favourite game in my collection. But I think the one we're doing with @yoyoni.bsky.social will be more playable

Guerre Éclair from @nutspublishing.bsky.social slaps. Great new entry in the mini wargame series. Very tight, great fog of war and pretty deep for such a simple game.

I didn't expect I'll ever get hyped for Red Flag Over Paris to be released again. This Chinese edition looks 😚👌

Scenario 2 from the upcoming CC:Vietnam from @gmtgames.bsky.social - "Everything but learn from it". The NLF is in a defensive position against the so called "free world forces". Super tense and fast paced scenario. I tried to end it early but couldn't recover from the initial successful ARVN push.

Counter art is really excellent. It's evocative and historically detailed. Looking forward to see the whole finished package 😍

I pushed the time track before breaking off hoping to secure enough points to secure a solid exit plan. But ended up one point short. As usual, it was tight and fun.

I just playtested a new intro scenario for Combat Commander: Vietnam, Huts & Minds, with @joedewhurst.bsky.social - a lot of clever evolution to the system, looking forward to doing all of the scenarios as a CC marathon. poke @gmtgames.bsky.social 🛖&🧠

This weekend was PunchedCon, so a lot has been played. Some that you might be interested in were The Man Who Was Thursday, Baltic Empires and Pacts. How was rebuilding Chicago, is it purely abstract or those it have some historical content to it?

So far the most innovative and fun Wargame of the year for me. And it's not designed by a Wargame designer 🤔
