#SixOnSaturday ends the week with a chill in the air and the great migration of plants to the greenhouse has started. The nighttime temperatures will stall the tropical plants now.😢the potted ones will definitely enjoy the warm move.🪴 #Gardening #Flowers #Tropical #Fall #SummersEnd #Nature #Plants

In perfumery, gardenia accords are built from white floral and green fragrances, along with indole, to give a funky/dirty note of realism. They simulate the lush, rich fragrance of gardenia without using floral extracts of gardenia. 📷: G. jasminoides cultivar. #Gardenia #Rubiaceae #Botany 🌾🧪🌱

This week, let’s look at plants with skirts. 💃 The “skirts” are the dried, dead leaves that some plants retain rather than drop. The Cuban petticoat palm, Copernicia macroglossa, is a classic example. #Arecaceae #Botany 🌾🧪🌱

Echinacea purpurea was introduced to England from Virginia in the late 17th century. In 1699, Oxford Physic Garden’s Jacob Bobart called it Dracunculus virginianus, “little dragon of Virginia” – perhaps inspired by its traditional use for snakebite or its spiked, flame-like cone.
