ppl at the top of orgs like to think that LLMs are replacing interns but for juniors they're mostly filling in for the lack of mentorship that's always been there.

I spent my time mostly not coding at our Maine van camp, but I cracked a couple beers and hammock camped one night and worked by the fire “for fun”, and I must say it felt rad.
Reviewing a PR on GitHub from a hammock by a fire under a full moon.

“While we cannot discuss the specific allegations during pending litigation, we take this matter seriously.” Wouldn’t it be great if we collectively set an automation so that as soon as litigation ended we could get notified to go follow up with cowards that use this fig leaf?

I never want to start loudly musing that the apocalypse is approaching as weird cope for the fact that I am aging and will someday die. That would be incredibly embarrassing.

“Secularization, it turns out, does not automatically remove the human instincts for religion and liturgy, it just repurposes their worship.” Highly recommend this whole Hedgehog Review issue for more on this: hedgehogreview.com/issues/re-en...

We Have Never Been Disenchanted
Capitalism has been a form of enchantment, a metamorphosis of the sacred in the raiment of secularity. With money as its ontological marrow, it represents a moral and metaphysical imagination as well ...

Fillets are _much_ better in KCL 3.0 (try it now by setting your version to "3.0-preview"). We added a new feature where fillets will continue around your model, following tangent edges (defaults to true, but can be toggled off). This makes it _much_ easier to apply fillets to your whole model!
A test part, with no filleted edges.The same part, but with a single `fillet` call that fillets all the top edges.The same part, but all edges have been filletted.

Behold ```lean def zip {α β: Type} (xs: List α) (ys: List β): List (α × β) := match xs with | [] => [] | x' :: xs' => match ys with | [] => [] | y' :: ys' => [(x', y')].append (zip xs' ys') def words := ["oof", "that", "was", "hard"] def nums := [1, 2, 3] #eval zip words nums ```

And the theft of that collective intelligence (theft here only meaning rent-seeking on the commons, they haven't isolated the sources of that intelligence merely created a chokepoint on the most compelling interface to it yet) has been unfathomably undervalued.

I think one of the frustrations that I may share with some LLM bears out there is that, as a humanist, I've taken for granted that people are brilliant and our collective intelligence is sublime, so there's something cursed about LLM marketing being like "look how smart it is". duh humanity smart

Alright, cool, I get it: democracy can put too much pressure on legal experts to remain clear-headed, let's keep that sacrosanct or whatever. But if you shield yourself from all consequence or even the *hint* of consequence for your actions, guess what? That's just as poisoning to impartiality.
