Trust me: whatever you’re doing right now is less important than watching this candidate interview. No spoilers, just trust:

As a small streamer I didn't expect to hit my initial goal of £50... but we did... then £70... £90... to £102.69 total! £100 allows the North of England Zoological Society (Chester Zoo) to buy batteries to run in-habitat cameras in Indonesia for a 3 month long wildlife survey. Thank you, everyone!

How does this work? You have a look in mind, maybe a Pinterest mood board, and looking for stuff that'd fit? Or are you just scavenging random curios and hoping you'll find a use for them?

Spot on. A good friend of mine still uses it "for the cat memes" and think grok is the most useful AI. Lovely bloke, but there's now a nasty edge behind a lot of his political opinions and the things he jokes about, and I blame X for it all

Here's something the media is hardly talking about. This Government is set to oversee the steepest fall in living standards in modern times - unless they change course fast. In less than two weeks Labour faces a stark choice - will they tax wealth and back the majority?
Under current projections this is set to be the worst parliament on record for living standards growth - and a bar chart demonstrating it

This raises some serious questions as to the extent to which the BBC present digitally altered images as reality. This may just be a show about dancing but what policies do the BBC have in place so that this doesn't occur during it's news broadcasts.

2 separate friends have now suggested I "bob around for coffee, whenever" and I genuinely wouldn't know how. I'm not sure I ever did, but I do remember being so much more gregarious when I was younger. I'm now one pub argument away from becoming Billy no mates www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...

The dreadful decline of hosting at home: ‘I feel shame any time a friend comes over’

Saying the war "never would have happened" if Donald Trump was president is not only a lie, it's possible that by signaling that the US was weak on Ukraine--by demonstrating that a president could illicitly halt aid, and that our government wouldn't actually hold him accountable--he helped cause it.

Not a bad idea but they should give much more control - the matchmaker should be able to contact people and explain "you're not my type, but looking at your profile objectively, you need a better picture, maybe one that shows your face instead of your prize carp"

I liked this article, recognised myself and my education in it. I'm not unionised, and last protested (as a lycéen as it so happens) in the 80s, but I have a deep belief in the right and duty to do so, and solidarity with those who do. e.g. I never doubted or questioned the junior doctors' protests

… a national dish consisting of fish and carbs with salt and vinegar and not much else, a former oceanic empire that collapsed after WWII, a global megacity for a capital. Almost like being a densely populated island on the edge of a powerful but unstable continent is in fact a kind of "magic soil".

Covid era transport grant gone wrong if I recall correctly , created these Schrödinger bus lanes here in #Chester, with the usual big warning signs about compliance, and then much smaller ad-hoc ones explaining they have been suspended and can/should be used by everyone.

Foraged locally?? I'm jealous, that's one autumn activity I miss from back home. Sadly it's one of those I would know how to do on my own, I've always depended on friends to take me to good mushroom spots and pick the correct ones... Not cêpes, never been a fan, but OMG, fresh chanterelles 😍 !!?
