Last night we kicked off our autumn/winter season of Framework Music Nights in our Chapel Gallery with a sell-out crowd for local folk band Higgs Bo'sun. A superb, joyful evening with old Ned Ludd, in the background, looking on approvingly.

We have had a great response to 'Cricketer & Stockinger' our current exhibition, which profiles 19th century individuals who were able to combine cricket & framework knitting. Many thanks to the heritage team at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground for their invaluable research and support. #Nottingham

Did you know that many framework knitters were also top cricketers? We have partnered with @trentbridge.co.uk and together have produced an exhibition telling this fascinating story. Today volunteers from FWK & Trent Bridge recreated how our workshop yard would have been used for impromptu games.

Sadly, we have had to close the Museum till Saturday due to the current heatwave. Volunteers demonstrating in our workshops is just not possible. Want to know how hot it is? Here's a candle from the frame shop. Stop sniggering at the back!
