Not just clubs, players, managers, and staff, too. Lot of people missed out on bonuses and contingencies based on European quals and league placings. Part of the punishment should be a victims' fund paid for by City's owners from which a special master would evaluate and pay-out individual claims.

Agree. I'm not comfortable with him, nor am I comfortable with 3 Arsenal Defs, so its the 2 Defs + maybe 1 Mid when I likely wildcard during the international break.

IMO, no. Arsenal's attack is better but still prone to long droughts of low scoring. Defense produces points pretty consistently. I believe the decision is whether to triple Arsenal defense (Raya + 2 Defs) or 2 Defs + (Saka/Odegaard).

Once the window is closed and everyone can settle into their role, I expect on-field chemistry to improve and improved implementation of Iraola's tactical scheme. Let's see where they are at GW 10, but I'm cautiously optimistic. Probably has more to do with how things developed at Bournemouth.

I’d venture to say that more than just talent accumulation goes into evaluating a sporting director. Squad balance, chemistry, and player character also weigh heavily, at least in my mind. Consider, e.g., Real Madrid.

I wish I could share your (qualified) optimism. My sense is 1892 Holdings will acquire full control of LFC within the next 3 years, followed by gradual value extraction and enshittification of LFC, which is the MO of Bezos, et al.

Sorry, I can’t join you. Post Traumatic No Haaland Disorder. I went no-Haaland to start last FPL season with the goal of going w/out him and Mo for the duration. I couldn’t take it and sacked myself after GW 6 @ OR 8.4 million. Finished 99k. Learned my lesson.

I'm afraid this is the beginning of the end of FSG's control of LFC. The consortium principals won't be satisfied with a minority position and no control. They can (Bezos) and eventually will make FSG an offer they can't refuse for control. Henry et al are about the $$$ first, so they'll sell.
