One week ago, I made a proposal for an idea I had for a long long time Today, I made that idea mind a reality and with the assistance of friends, I finally completed the first roll out of THE LIST: drive.google.com/file/d/1RlSs... It houses my friends and acquaintances that can use some support.

Definitely. It's a scene from the story but also some tone setting as it focuses on little Ava.

000

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

It's a full tone reset but it's a serious situation so it needs it

000

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

It changes the tone too, it's a little darker than the original, which was mainly silly.

100

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

It'll lean more towards character backstory like the first one did, with hints at the world building. The cover was done by @pgharts.bsky.social

100

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I was inspired by something else I'd watched and came up with an extra concept for the world, I really wanted to use it. The original scenario wasn't really fitting with the world and the new one, I felt was much cooler :P

100

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

It won't affect the understanding of the main story, anything important will be covered in the comic (I don't want to put important things behind a pay wall) but it will add extra info to the world and characters.

100

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

It's the same characters, but parts of their life that won't be told in the comics due to time.

100

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

So far a reveal for Ryan. I completely changed the location and set up for it but it fits much better in the world and think will be more interesting <3

100

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

It's locked in when I write the chapter :P But the beats themselves are set, for example a character info reveal is set, but the exact details on how I do it may change if I think of something better.

100

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I think it will still be fairly consistent, as I still get final say on anything included in the short story. I wanted to help push other writers at the same time as my own.

100

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Yeah, it also means as I get better at writing, the chapter isn't stuck with something I wrote before. :)

101

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Hopefully a new writer but if not grendelkin will be back <3

100

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Thank you <3 It'll be new. Like with volume 1, I'm asking a guest writer to put it together and there will be illustrations alongside it. @grendelkinarts.bsky.social did the last one for me :)

110

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Not an exact chapter. The story is fairy loose in my head, it has a-b-c but exact details only get decided when I plan the chapter. It lets the story feel fresh for me as comics take so long.

100

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

It is tempting, as I worry people will stop reading but it wouldn't be satisfying or natural for it to come out yet.

100

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

It'll be posted on the comic sites as normal and once it's complete I'll be printing another physical copy, which will include chapter 3 + 4 and an exclusive short story.

100

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

It wasn't the best con sadly but I met some lovely people and they took a chance on my comics, which I'm very grateful for. I haven't finished chapter 4 yet, so they didn't get to see it.

100

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Fortunately there haven't been many tough questions yet, most of them are cute ones for the Q+A. I have a few readers who want to know more about the bad guy and why he started the experiments, but that will come with time.

100

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

(So sorry for the slow reply, I've been at a comic con over the weekend)

100

Foxhat @foxhatart.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Just written updates for now, so there's not too many spoilers. But the Q+A questions are also fun :3
