Only a small delivery from @brasscastlebeer.bsky.social this time; don't worry they all pack a punch. Andrew's sure introductions aren't necessary for Bad Kitty or Crush. This time around Crush is showcasing the classic Citra-Chinook combo, and is bound to be a big hit. #BeerSky #BskyBeer

Tonight! (Weds) We're all set up for our Nightjar Brew Co Tap Takeover this evening and it's a great selection. If you'd like to learn about the beers, and the inspiration behind them, Matt and Jake will be here from 19:00. #BeerSky #BskyBeer

How many hops do we need to make our own beer? It's only 2 years old, and has been completely neglected., so hopefully if we give it a bit of love we'll have enough next year. We've a couple of beers with locally grown green hops due in the next couple of weeks. Keep an eye out for them.

Andrew has nobly pledged to be at the front of our queue when the bitter hits the pumps in a couple of weeks. Big thanks to Matt and Jake for making him so welcome. He's hoping they'll pop down to the pub once it's on for an informal meet the brewer session; watch this space for details.

1/3 Andrew's been buying every English hopped beer he can, so he jumped at the chance to do an English hopped bitter with Nightjar Brew Co. #HebdenBridge As a bonus their recipe uses two new hops, Boadicea and Godiva, from the Charles Faram hop development programme... #BeerSky #BskyBeer

Andrew's looking to the NE this weekend as he's just got access to some fab breweries up there. This includes Wylam — he's had a couple of excellent pales so he's now bagged two casks — and North Pier, new to him, excellent reviews, and who wouldn't want a pint of Northern Best? #BskyBeer #BeerSky
Eight pump clips on a wooden table: North Pier's High Tide IPA, 6%; Wylam's Confessions, summer pale, 4.5%; Runaway Brewery, Running Pale, 3.4%; Wylam's Plain Porter, 4.7%; North Pier's Northern Best 4.4%; plus some usual suspects: Turning Point's The Yeti Is Waiting Pale Ale, 4.8%; Mallinson's Elixir Mosaic, 4%; and Amity's Good Word Pale at 5.1%.

1/ On 8 August we celebrate the 12th anniversary of our #cooperative pub. Unlike the dreadful #AI slop below, the Fox and Goose was built by humans, for humans (and their dogs). Community and connection feel more important than ever, so why not join us for a pint tomorrow. #HebdenBridge
We asked Chatgpt to generate the most AI style promotional image for the pub and it's a doozy, an opalescent fox and goose gaze into the middle distance, text reads your local hub for conversation, connection and good times, boke. Weird hallucinated buildings and a canal can be seen.

Now then, were I down at the Fox today I'd be after a pint of this Brown Ale from Anthology. Why? Every beer I've tasted from this Leeds brewery has been fantastic. Moreover, there are some amazing classic browns and bests around, which seem to taste all the nicer after being drowned in IPAs.

Love and solidarity to our friends down the hill at Drink? #HebdenBridge who've sadly had to deal with some bigoted visitors this weekend. Our places are safe spaces and not the place for you.
Yesterday we had an incident in the bar.

We're pretty disgusted by it and we're gutted that it happened in our bar (as we're woke, lefty, liberal do gooders and we're proud), we'd like to extend our apologies to the family that had to suffer the indignity of their paths crossing with bigots, we really do strive to make the bar a safe space

Jago, our team member dealt with the men as soon as he realised what was happening,
As the men left (were kicked out by Jago) one of them said
"Come on, we're getting kicked out for our views"
I'd like it to stand on record that that is exactly why they were kicked out.
If your views are racist, dont come
If your views are homophobic, dont come
If your views are misogynistic or misandrist, dont come
If your views are transphobic, dont come.

If you have wound up in our bar and you hold those views, keep your damn mouth shut.
There's loads to talk about that cant be labled a hate crime, stick to those easy and numerous topics (and ni-one will ever find out that youre terrible).

We dont care if you think we're the thought police for telling you that hate crimes will not be tolerated in our establishment.
We are a freehouse, you're on our property and we sell a controlled substance. Youre here by consent and not by right, cross any lines that we dont consent to and you can find somewhere else to drink immediately.

Racist?

Drink - somewhere else.Black text on white reads: No place for homophobia, fascism, sexism, racism, hate.
