It might be “cheap food tastes better” but gpt-6-luna has handled anything I’ve thrown at it reasonably well and gpt-6.1-sol hasn’t been any noticeably better whenever it hasn’t.

I’m haven’t quite convinced myself that the new “is null” behaviour in C# 15’s new unions won’t have some unexpected results. Hopefully in practice “boxed null union values” are rare.

Bugs like this in Firefox for iOS that stay open for YEARS are incredibly frustrating, confidence destroying, disappointing, and make it impossible to recommend to others. Data loss bugs are the worst. I stick with Firefox for sync and to fight the Chromium monoculture but they don’t make it easy

Skimming through ATSB reports (as one does) and this jumped out at me. The manufacturer refused supervision of their examination of one of their products that was involved in an incident and then… the NTSB and ATSB just said “ok”? www.atsb.gov.au/publications...
To ensure the integrity of the material evidence and to provide independent oversight, ATSB personnel were required to be present for the Australian manufacturer’s examination and testing of the throttle body. However, Rotec Aerosport would not permit ATSB personnel to be present and therefore, the NTSB elected not to proceed with the testing.

As no further involvement has been requested, the ATSB has closed this investigation.

Is there a good public policy reason for Fringe Benefits Tax being an employer liability rather than just part of the income tax calculation? Like the whole salary packaging “industry” must be a net public negative, right? A bunch of extra complexity, risk, and middlemen just to avoid some tax.

The last southbound Metro Tunnel service departs Footscray at 8:21pm on Sunday? EIGHT PM. It doesn’t even meet the last city bound Warrnambool V/Line service that arrives at 8:50pm. This seems to be the regular timetable and not due to works?

The spike in fuel prices reminds us that Victoria once had electric regional trains, Melbourne to Traralgon 1956-1987. Planning and funding electrification for V/Line, starting with the busiest lines, would help protect against future cost spikes, help cut emissions, and improve air quality.🚆⚡
