Book 30: Sophie Morton-Thomas, Birdspotting in a Small Town. Morton-Thomas successfully creates a tightness and inescapabity of characters stuck with each other. Not sure how I feel about the reveal.

Book 16: Ursula K Leguin's Book of Cats. Leggings will always be beloved for Earthsea and Left Hand of Darkness but to me I will always first remember her as author of Catwings, a series of illustrated children's stories about flying cats! Also her cat blog.
