This is a map on the N. Minnesota border. The green is the BWCA. Colored cubes are mining leases. But the entire outline is the watershed. Notice the leases inside that line. So, yes. There are effectively mines proposed inside the BWCA

Commenting on behalf of these puppy kids. Who asked me if you could give them a compliment. Or a cookie. Or both.

The most offensive part of the nyt quiz was the results explanation:

Stupid ai glazing bs writing from the nyt.

I caught one in the wild! A NYT headline that licks the boot hard. Should read “Senator helps police pin veteran’s arm in door and pulls on his body until it snaps.”

This transcript is really heartbreaking to read. The doj is trying as hard as it can to hurt people. From this slate article: slate.com/news-and-pol...

Court transcript from St. Paul MN court hearing on non-compliance of court orders by the DOJ. Highlighted text is from the federal attorney describing how overwhelming the backlog of MN cases has been given the FeDoJ’s unwillingness to comply with any orders restricting ICE

What the hell is his accent?! I can’t get over how it sounds like a helium balloon version of Bill’s uncle from King of the Hill.

This has to be grounds for impeachment, right?! Our military has literally been hijacked by radicals and they’ve gone rogue Never have I felt the sentiment of not wanting my country to start a foreign war so strongly

Alright. Ally @cowboylikeally.swifties.social gave me track 10. It was kinda tough because I apparently like track 9’s or 11’s more frequently. Here’s my picks! Reply and I’ll give you a track number! [f(X)=all real integers, domain (1,~50)]

This graph from the Rock-to-Metal Ratio project illustrates high volume ores. You have to move A LOT of non-ore rock to get to the good stuff. And then you still have to collect and concentrate a large amount of ore to produce the desired metal. These ores are in the lower right of the graph 2/

Plot showing colored dots representing metals listed on the right side column. Y axis is labeled “rock-to-metal ratio.” X axis label is “ore grade”. The size of each dot represents a percentage of revenue share.

Proud of this little patch of native prairie plants I grew (centered around the black-eyed susans) It’s definitely not much but it’s meant a lot to be able to discover new plants & insects everyday I visit it. Depression is crippling but I still did something I enjoy this summer. And that’s enough.
