was proud of myself for almost trophy-ing on today's draft and then realized I just drew my two-card combo on curve for 7 games (and lost miserably in the games where I didn't)

It kinda reminds me of when Ford showed off those exosuits for factory workers and my only thought was "wait you had them hold tools above their heads for whole shifts this entire time?"

Wasn't feeling great about drafting this MTG set and somehow getting red Ajani in a pack and stomping made it feel even worse lol

I use an extension to always show me the chronological feed and the numbers are pretty grim for most of the posts on that site. I feel like people browsing the default feed are getting a false sense of how much engagement actually happens there

010

formthehead @formthehead.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

wow how did I only just now learn about Multires in Blender. I thought sculpting felt like shit because I was setting up my meshes wrong, turns out I just didn't know about the thing that made the tools actually work.

Normally I'd agree but Elon straight up looks like a Miura monster in that picture

010

formthehead @formthehead.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

yeah I kinda worked backwards by adding extras onto my rendered details in order to make them look more natural, as opposed to doing the more prudent thing which is working on making my basic brushwork more expressive

010

formthehead @formthehead.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

I should be more disciplined about practicing gesture drawing or developing more varied tools for abstraction. I have to admit alot of my current style ends up just being brute force rendering instead of finding more interesting ways of solving problems.

formthehead @formthehead.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

(This is probably true of most artists) My drawings only look good at 20% detail or 100% detail, and although the prudent thing is to make the 20% version look better—or atleast draw the 100% version faster—I've actually gone ahead and made my 100% even more time-consuming

Originally thought I'd do some traveling in the fall but with prices being what they are I decided to just stay put and be productive.

I'm keeping commissions open for the rest of the year, please reach out via email or DMs if you're interested! You can see more details in my previous post, or search "commission" in my feed to see some of my previous comms.

Speaking of textures it was funny when the game kept cutting back and forth between her super detailed design and Alphinaud's PS3-lookin' face

WIP I wanted to do a composition with the airship but I couldn't export it out of the game, so I went to ask the Meddle discord and it turns out there's an invalid texture on the ship. The dev said they'll push a fix for me and I feel bad because I already started on a composition without it...

I used to argue that leftist policies can poll well nationally depending on how they're presented, and it'll only take a couple of news cycles for them to become mainstream. Then I realized that's exactly why they don't want to run leftist candidates.

There was a web novel I stopped reading a while back because the fan translation got shut down, so I was curious to catch up with almost 2 years' worth of chapters. Paid for the official translation and it's just completely unedited MTL. Even slop merchants need standards c'mon.

A while back I had an idea for a painting of Tataru in full tactical gear and a gun, getting ready to save Eorzea. But this week I realized that she — both literally and figuratively — only needed the gun.

Also in my experience people assume the technology is way more complex than it actually is because they need to imagine the computer as a smart person who is also extremely dumb (for arcane reasons), instead of just imagining someone who is extremely dumb.
