Sometimes I love threads like this because it helps me block dozens of accounts that are clearly either malicious actors or people who were easily duped by them. Bluesky's blocking culture is awesome.

I tried to combat NextDoor hysteria in Woodinville and Kirkland, but it was a nightmare. Before GPT hit, the number of obvious fake accounts with bad AI generated photos was mind blowing. The racist and homophonic content eye bleeding. I finally got banned for calling Qanon followers idiots.

I see #Lyons after getting utterly demolished in Woodinville City Council stealing attempt is now trying the same bullshit to take WA LD1. I look forward to his epic waste of money and failure there as well. Reminder of my cheap signs. You have the power. #votedem #waelections #ld1 #wadem

Been living near Ikebukuro for almost 8 months now and finally found exactly the kind of cozy coffee shop I was looking for to study Japanese at a couple times a week. I love how layered cities are in Japan, but as odd as it may sound, it can make it hard to find that special local cafe.

Well this is uncomfortable. Woman next to me from Taiwan at Shibuya Din Tai Fung keeps beating her kid and he is screaming his fool head off. I know from Taiwan because before that started happening husband struck up a conversation with me. If still in the US, I would have called the police.

Fuck #aislop music on Spotify. I would rather listen to the Japanese rap band from 2020 - ARGON - and their 70k listens song Times Up than the half dozen AI Slop songs Spotify put on my "New Releases" list this month. BTW, heard that song at a clothing store in Harajuku today and it smacks.

I feel like shouting "Go Bears" in Japan could be taken quite poorly given the recent attacks, but fuck it #Beardown #chicagobears

Ahh my weekly block all the fucking AI artists #spotify insisting and putting on my "release radar" I prefer listening to real humans playing. And Spotify assholes decided to modify release radar to no longer be just the artists I like and instead flood it with AI Slop.

Had my first true Japanese Anime moment. Riding my bicycle through Zoshigaya Cemetery to go grocery shopping, my headlight ran out of battery and everything went pitch black dark just as I passed the grave of Natume Soseki. Good thing Truck-kun basically doesn't visit cemeteries or I was ripe.

Went to doctor in #Japan as resident for first time today. No appointment needed. Went to see specialist dermatologist. 40m wait. 30m appointment. 1100¥ for visit and 560¥ for prescription medication. The US has no fucking clue what they are missing.

What's that? I now remember my late mom talking about me having an allergic reaction to laundry detergent and that's why she insisted I always use a specific kind of Tide? Only took moving to Japan and getting a full body rash to jog my memory and then confirm with older brother.

Getting a new phone setup in Japan is night and day vs US US - Going into store. Wait in line for 30m for one of maybe 2 employees to help you. Told to call support for any asks. Japan - 20+ people there to help. Instantly seated and helped. Handle everything even proactively updating address.

ChatGPT literally just made up 6 desserts and prices for them for a menu. Nicole was confused because there were just 3 on the actual menu and it gave me 6. Looking at the picture I took, it didn't even have the desserts in the photo. Just the header.

Finally got assist and was able to move @xbox.com GamePass to subscribing in Japan just in time for 50% price increase. But Microsoft Amazon store still selling them at 1450¥ per month. Stocked up to 3 years worth at old price and fully redeemed.
