Been living near Ikebukuro for almost 8 months now and finally found exactly the kind of cozy coffee shop I was looking for to study Japanese at a couple times a week. I love how layered cities are in Japan, but as odd as it may sound, it can make it hard to find that special local cafe.

Had my first true Japanese Anime moment. Riding my bicycle through Zoshigaya Cemetery to go grocery shopping, my headlight ran out of battery and everything went pitch black dark just as I passed the grave of Natume Soseki. Good thing Truck-kun basically doesn't visit cemeteries or I was ripe.

Went to doctor in #Japan as resident for first time today. No appointment needed. Went to see specialist dermatologist. 40m wait. 30m appointment. 1100¥ for visit and 560¥ for prescription medication. The US has no fucking clue what they are missing.

Feeling sorry for a Line user today. I was finally able to setup a Line account with my Japanese phone number. Line accounts are tied to your phone number. It said an account already existed. I had to delete their account to create mine. Even if they added an email, recovery requires phone.
