You know what. I still want to do this. I re-read all of the samples from last year, in the exact same order as I did the first time, & wrote down my thoughts. I will try to space this out a bit. One booklet a day. Should be enough time to also finish this year's batch. First: Bliss - End of Gods.

My first impression from the free preview of Bliss - End of Gods:

The beginning focused too much on fan service and not enough on explaining its setting. Two factions are supposedly trying to sway the
main character to their side, but the only thing I learned about her is that she only dresses in a black bikini, is an amputee with a flying prostectic and is real pretty. The moment she encountered someone with these vaguely-explained god powers, she loses and needed to be rescued by two other gods of the opposite side.
This roughly first chapter of the manhua simply did not show enough to hook me.

Today is Manga Day 26. I arrived a bit late in town but despite the good weather, there wasn't that high of a demand. Last year people where picking their offerings apart. Some bookstores didn't even order the new reading samples and just displayed what they still had in stock from last year.

Reading samples from Manga Day 2026, spread out on a white sheet.

The first row has six booklets from this year, from left to right:

The second row has six booklets from last year which I didn't pick in 2025:

Like I lost so much (hidden) MMR that I was only matched with extremely low ranked players. Understandable given the recent results, but still. Felt undeserved to win with silver items. Also, look at this wild fight on day 6. Can't tell me they won anything with this.

Returned to The Bazaar after realizing that this is a great game to play during the heatwave. I also bought three DLCs / characters with Jules, Mak & Stelle during the Steam Summer Sale, so I have some new stuff to try. I'm really happy to get my first perfect victory on my seventh Mak game.

For those not watching my stuff: On my island there are me and my friends (+ now their genderbend versions) and "for each of us" I added characters from games I played on my youtube & twitch channels. Its a good mix of popular and niche characters. Can you recognize them? #TomodachiLife

I am not good at creating Miis. I tried my best to give them fitting clothes, which also isn't easy since the game only drip feeds you new stuff.

Here you can see my island in a wide shot. Yes, there is a whole lot of more space in all directions but up. Now guess what you can not do: You can not just pick up your island and place it further down. Something that you can do in the palette house workshop. So I have to completely redo this.

The Not-A-Cult Island in its current state. There is a lot of room to build in all directions but up/north.

Created 8 new Miis on my Tomodachi Life island over the weekend, but I was running out of space at the corner of my island to place them in a natural and satisfying way. I realized I was about to reach the limit to unlock the last Island expansion, so I created 2 dummiis to get that. ... cool.

The corner of my tomodachi island I hoped to expand on with the last island upgrade. It added only very little with which I can do almost nothing.

Before the update you could easily see which of the up to six games were part of it. This was important since they showed more than those games that didn't take part in the Daily, Mid- or Weekend Deals. (Picture isn't mine and also not 100% up to date, but still helps to see the difference)

Overall I like the new design and features of the steam store page, but they aren't highlighting what games are the daily deals anymore. They still at their old place and they are named as such when you click on the games individually but thats a hassle.

Since it had been on sale again, I decided to buy the full version and give The Bazaar a real try. Obviously I know not a thing about builds or even how to really play this game, but up until the last day / last two fights I (thought I) did pretty well. Then this crazy stall build ruined it.

Ah, wonderful. You can now see again when a Demo on Steam isn't available anymore. For a time (months) you had only the usual 'Play' button and had to start the game to see if the license had been revoked.

The starters are... Browt is okay. Pombon is the MVP of the three, but he has major Route 2 normal pokemon vibes. Also I fear it will be a bipedal by the end like all fire starters. Gecqua I like the least. Looks okay in 2D but less so during the reveal trailer in 3D.

Now I got curious and looked at the last published news on their steam store page. Also November 2021. So apparently only the new console versions got an update? The way I read it, I thought the "also" from the email, which was from 3 days ago, meant that this is ~also~ for the existing platforms.

Got the game in 2020 through the "Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality" and I believed that this might be the culprit; Bought in a bundle gets treated differently than buying from the publisher directly. But looking at the game's store page, there its also stated to be last updated in Nov. 2001

I would understand that the first run would make things easier, as they game holds you by the hand to explain things. But I ended all three runs with 10 wins and my builds were, as far as I can tell as a newbie, atrocious at times.

I like the atmosphere from what I played so far. But I ran into a situation I don't really know what to make of: The game says I have till midnight (demo limitation?) to find out what happened. Its 11:57pm and I achieved that goal. But when I leave the room I am in, I will get a game over.
