I am thoroughly enjoying #31daysofgraves . I don't have a photo but I used to walk the beat through Robin Hood Cemetery in Birmingham, and would often pass the grave of the unfortunately named Fanny Payne, who happened to be buried opposite Dick Trickle.

In the same junk shop, my son bought a random bag of old coins. Having looked through them and done some research, we think there's one coin there that could be worth a significant amount of money - the weight and dimensions are all spot on - I wonder.......

That’s fascinating! Thanks so much - the power of social media at its best. Yes I do wonder where the base is and with only 700 it’s quite rare. Thanks Gwyn.

Reginald Gatehouse was killed in the Zeebrugge Raid in WW1 and is buried in my local churchyard. I found a picture of him in the paper and thanks to AI produced this improved image - a very handsome young man taken too young.

One of the most remarkable books I have ever read. Genuinely moved me to tears - if you haven’t read it, read it.

@debsadelight.bsky.social ill have to tell you Grandpa’s story - it’s quite remarkable - he ran away from a tiny Welsh mining village because he didn’t want to be a sheep farmer or coal miner and went to London with £5 in his pocket and a dream to become a doctor.

My Grandfather serving as a Medical Officer taken at El Alamein in WW2. He was a very tall man who went on to be a GP in rural Oxfordshire for 35 years after the war. He was one of the first medical officers to arrive at Belsen.

Thoroughly enjoying this in the Mediterranean sunshine. Objective, meticulously researched and beautifully written - a change of war from my usual!

Oh enjoy that. My daughter once very kindly emptied a whole tin of custard into my sock drawer and then pulled all the custard covered socks and before putting them neatly down the toilet

Delighted to have been sent a limited edition first print of a book by the author today - the cover design and binding are simply stunning. The picture doesn't do it justice.

Having been a police officer - some coppers are bent, absolutely, but the majority are decent, hardworking and honest. There’s bad eggs in every organisation, it’s just a shame they exist in an organisation intended to uphold the rules of law and order, where integrity is key.

Went into the lake in my waders to rescue a duck that had been injured by a group of teenagers with stones and rocks. A wonderful lady from Swan Support UK has taken him into their care and I hope he recovers. What I’d like to do the youths isn’t publishable.
