I make stuff. Sometimes it's drawn, sometimes it's pixellated, sometimes it's playable, and other times it's spat out of a 3D printer. Projects and art commission info: fabiofontes.com #gamedev #indiedev #art #illustration #3dprinting #diy

there are two packages, plasma-desktop and plasma-meta. I dunno if it's user error or the script borking, but noticed people ending up with plasma-desktop and "wait, where them apps at" At least it's an easy fix

Short term, mostly testing stuff on SBCs (Pi-like computers), this way I don't need to disconnect my desktop's kb or pull out another equally large board. Long term, it's a nice form factor for a cyberdeck lol

Handheld keyboards can be convenient for a buncha stuff, but all available options always have some stupid caveat to me (wireless-only, crap layouts, iffy mouse control)... so fuck it, made one. Wiring's a mess but hey, it works!... though might be time I learn kikad or something lol

Welp. For what it's worth Claude started Clauding it up in June and the latest release is still from April, to give a reference of which version to get if anyone wants to give it a go. Guess I'm never updating mine lol

Not 100% sure on the colors but hey, beats Prototype Gray™! Also ditched the BTUs for good old silicon nitride static bearings, stiction's minimal anyway. Also that button in the ball socket's to hit the Boot on the rp2040 for easier reflashing #trackball #3dprint #3dprinting #qmk

Been dancing around building a trackball for a while but yay, existance! Gonna keep it in Prototype Gray™ while I get used to it. Specs: - 55mm ball on 9mm BTU bearings - 7 buttons w/ Gateron Low Profile Banana tactile switches - PMW3389 sensor - RP2040 Zero flashed w/ QMK #trackball #3dprinting

I also redid my personal Meshtastic node using this, looks MUCH nicer than before. Also this time I can have button legends, good fucking luck having the nozzle do that without turning it all into PLA soup.

The process itself is surprisingly straight-forward. Print the thing on sublimation paper, stick it on the 3D printer's bed, then just print over it. Details onn this 2-part guide from Teaching Tech: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq13...

These were early experiments. I coulda printed an RGB color wheel or something, but actual art looks nicer. Those are 50x50x2mm squares, just enough to test it out. Then because why not, character standee. And yep, could've printed the base with a floor texture, just didn't hit me at the time lol

Haven't had a paper printer in forever so nabbed one of them color laser ones (cartridges are a scam and ecotanks ain't much cheaper), which coupled with sublimation paper allows one to do... among other stuff, dyesub keycaps for my custom keyboard! #3Dprinting #3Dprint #mechanicalkeyboards

Got a pack of filament colors meant for 3D pens, so made these mini-spools to properly store them. Works quite well for spool leftovers too! Otherwise you're just keeping a mostly empty KG spool around. Link: www.thingiverse.com/thing:7376818 #3dprint #3dprinting

3D-printed clamshell-style micro-SD card holder. It is closed to show the outer shell, which has lines to make it resemble the silhouette of a micro-SD card, along with a logo styled similarly to the SD Association logo, but saying "SDeez" instead.3D-printed clamshell-style micro-SD card case, open to show how cards are laid out inside. There is a space for a full-size SD card adapter on one of the halves.

Oh yeah, I just have the habit of calling all these "the decomp", been doing it since the Mario 64 one lol But yeah, Courage Reborn sounds interesting, seems to be the UZDoom to Dusklight's Chocolate Doom from what I saw. Holy shit two cakes!

That'd defeat the point pf the controller letting you swap face buttons, I just "mushroomed" the top of the caps enough to have the shape. Doesn't affect press distance in the slightest, and the Pro 3's buttons having more give when pressed at an angle makes this work way better than expected.

Here we have 3 specimens of the species dunginus plataformis femalis in their natural habitat, one so inhospitable that one's ability to thrive still leaves researchers... puzzled. For a small fee for operational costs, you too can contribute to discovering their methods of survival. For science.

Fábio Fontes @fontes.bsky.social · 20/04/2026
While the change was mostly for ideological reasons, it does help Godot's tooling does line up better with what I wanna do. That said, features in an engine are mostly a suggestion, people should be more open to experimentation lol
020
Fábio Fontes @fontes.bsky.social · 20/04/2026
Well, this is a sequel and the first one was made in gamemaker of all things, so it sure ain't harder than that lol As for readability, it can help, but there are methods that can apply to most art styles, like having slightly higher saturation on stuff you want to be more noticeable.

Fábio Fontes @fontes.bsky.social · 20/04/2026
Hey, thanks. The engine's Godot, as for the visuals I'm not sure "materials" is the right term since I'm ditching the default matcaps in favor of custom shaders, but I guess the end-result's cel-shading just the same lol
