Whoever it was has never tried researching anything in their life. It's horrific, and none of my saved articles have been retained, so I've lost all sorts of little reminders for future work 🙈

This is the worst 'upgrade' to any website I've ever experienced. It's obviously been done by people who never once used the previous one, because not only have all the useful features gone, it's now ten times more difficult to navigate. Life is hard enough right now without this nonsense!

Starting my day reading the 1752 Murder Act. I do struggle with the language of formal documents, so it's not necessarily enjoyable.

I've needed to take a bit of a break from everything online lately, but I have continued research tasks and have enjoyed selling physical printed copies of the Norma Explores magazine (Norfolk Supplement) at my shop, which hopefully means sharing the project with new people. ⬇️

It's probably time European journalists wrapped their heads around Heat Index (temp + relative humidity). In high humidity, sweating is less efficient, making heat worse, e.g.: Experiencing 35°C in London UK (70% RH) is more dangerous than 50°C in Phoenix Arizona (15% RH)

I spotted a leaf cutter bee making a nest in my wall today. I hope it's nice and cool in there behind the flint.... 🐝

They seem to be an all or nothing creature. They spend most of their lives as larve, so we only get to enjoy them like this for about a month and a half in summer.

I was given a cheese scone by the tearoom next door to me this afternoon, so I have that with cream cheese and onion marmalade, plus a whisky and coke for dinner. Too hot for cooked food today!

I've never grown asparagus from seed before. I don't know why, but I never considered the seedling would just look like a perfect tiny asparagus 😂

Im off work this weekend. I don't know where we are going or what we're doing. It's a surprise, which has made packing a challenge 😂 I am, of course, hoping there's some graveyards involved.

On my way to work this morning I picked up a massive bumblebee walking across the pavement. Wasn't sure if it was thirsty or hit by a car. Took it to the shop, went inside to get my bee rescue juice, and met an equally massive worm right in the middle of the floor 😶 Weird start to the day.

This mint was half price in the 'dead plant' trolley at the supermarket.... and it has SO many new shoots coming out. Tomorrow, it's getting a new pot and some fresh dirt. I have a pallet of new plants coming for the shop next week, but I'm most excited by this! 😁🌿

I deactivated my IG and FB today for both myself and my business. I was rewarded with a stunning view of a buzzard standing in a field on my walk home, which I did not film - just enjoyed. This is how I intend to proceed for the time being.

Completely agree. No one is positions of power cares to make decisions to benefit anyone but themselves and their own pocket. I'm just doing what I can for my immediate environment now because anything bigger overwhelms me. It's exhausting.

I've been doing some painting this week. First time in a long while, but it certainly helps get my brain away from the world. This was once the site of a gallows, though sadly, I don't know who found themselves here.

I see CWGC is running a survey to find out how to make their major sites more "meaningful" and "welcoming". Frankly I think that thousands of graves or names on a memorial to the missing is fairly meaningful already. #ww1 #genealogy
