That hasn't been true in my experience, but I'll accept that yours may have differed. I've just found that the people that meet the criteria for 'gold star' but don't define themselves by it tend to have less toxic attitudes towards the opposite gender. I never claimed it makes you 'too gay'

While it's important to understand the definition, the term gold-star gay is most frequently used by those who have some sort of weird pride in the fact they've never slept with a woman, as if it makes them better than other gay men somehow,so it ends up being a red flag for more mysoginistic stuff
