While we now get frightened by our phones for earthquake warnings, I recalled learning about this seismometer from the Eastern Han dynasty that would elegantly drop a ball in the mouth of a frog directionally indicating that an earthquake had happened ~somewhere over there~

@siracusa @Ann_Effes I like the look too. In terms of positioning it makes me think of Ferrari - a big bold powerful car. Trunk space, rear seats and back window (it exists but usually looks tiny and inconvenient compared to everyday cars) have never been the selling points for a Ferrari.

Shiodome tonight. Long time.
A kid show (?) being filmed just outside Nippon TV headquarters. Night scene. Two Tv presenters facing the camera, an old man on the left and a yellow chicken mascot on the right. The silhouettes of three other people off camera can also be seen. Wide angle night view. Tall office towers in the background. In the middle, a tall pedestrian walkway. At the bottom, the wide and bright entrance to a pedestrian underground area.
