Ha, so true. My American partner also noticed this. We use the U.S. pronunciation in our house.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported my fundraiser for Skye's assistance dog. I am delighted to have come in third-place in the Women's Category in my first Marathon yesterday. 🌳 🏃🏻 We raised £525 towards the £10995 goal (links in the replies). #Marathon #MagnaCarta #Fundraising

Fiona running and smiling in amongst leaves and greenery during Magna Carta marathon. Fiona wears a magenta top on a cap and the race number 28, in shorts and fluorescent pink trainers.

A picturesque and serene view of the Thames river surrounded by trees and forest. Not what you usually think for the river which also flows through London with it's famous skyscrapers.

A wooden engraved placemat with Magna Carta stamp on it and female 3rd place in the text.

Medal which is also a bottle opener with Magna Carta race series on it. The medal looks like a scroll on a black ribbon.

Would you like to put a smile on my face and help someone else too? For various reasons this past month has been a bit rough, so please help me raise money for another kind of ruff, an assistance dog for Skye. If you chip-in that would be awesome. Link below. #AutismAwareness #AssistanceDogs

A green open space with tracks worn down by walking and running. The sky is overcast with clouds. In the distance amongst trees a white old finished windmill is seen.

A vast open field with a shed and rolling hills in the distance. A farm gate is in the foreground with flowers near the gate and fence. The sky is a light blue with few clouds.

A chalk path running through the centre of the image. A wide rolling green field with a bright yellow oil seed rape field in the distance. The sky is a beautifully clear blue.

A hilly grassy area with New Forest Wild Horses grazing. There are lots of tufts or grass and natural hedges. A main road runs on the left of the field. With a bright yellow oil seed rape field in the distance.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for today’s Service Design Breakfast Club, and a big thank you to @fmacneill.bsky.social for leading such a thoughtful and engaging activity. See you next time. 👋

A different angle of the same meeting, with several people talking and listening around the table, some taking notes. Two large windows and a coffee machine are in the background.

A person sits on the back of a couch near a window, speaking and gesturing with hands during what appears to be a presentation. A laptop, cups, and papers are on the nearby table.

A set of illustrated and handwritten cards laid out on a wooden table. The cards feature drawings and text referencing AI, pop culture figures like Godzilla and Carl Sagan, and decision-making scenarios.

Three people near a window are smiling and laughing while seated at a table with leftover food, a milk carton, and coffee. One person is looking at their phone.

I enjoy finding the good news in the mix 🗞️ I love this project near Old Street which is recouping hot air from the Northern line tube line to heat water for “1,350 homes, a school and two leisure centres”. www.theguardian.com/environment/... #Sustainability #DesigningPlace

[1/3] I'm running the Brighton 10K for Fabrica on 6th April. £300 raised, could we get it to £450? £150 more could fund one of the following amazing initiatives... - Six days of nutritious lunches for 100 children and families 🥗 www.justgiving.com/page/fi-fabr...

While I appreciate the motivational data visualisation @justgiving.bsky.social the implied sum in this visualisation is driving me wild! #DeceptivePatterns #BadDataVizForGood? #DataViz #UX #ContentDesign

A basic horizontal barchart type visualiation is shown - as a screenshot from a Just Giving email. The number on the left lower end of the bar is £180 the number on the right, the upper end of the bar is £500. The bar gauge is shown exactly halfway between £180 and £500, implying that £180 is half of £500. £250 is half of £500, so this is really deceptive UX although being used for a good motivational cause.

No wonder extraterrestrials haven't visited us... An amazing talk this morning (evening in Melbourne) by Rosi Braidotti as part of RMIT University and @darkmatterlabs.org #PlanetaryCivics launch #TrashPlanet #ThinkWeMust #DataViz

Rosi Bradotti is shown in a window on the bottom-right. A NASA data visualisation of the earth is shown on screen. It is our blue green orb, but surrounded by an astonishing amount of trash objects orbiting our atomosphere.

If anyone would like instructions for Windows I have those too. You need Notepad++ (notepad-plus-plus.org). I work for 'hearts' 😜

Need to clean up a Zoom chat to make a learning resource? On a Mac? Here is how. Download the chat > open in TextEdit > Press Cmd F on keyboard > Select dropdown next to 🔍 > Select Insert pattern > pattern to remove timestamps '##:##:##[blankspace]Any:' > replace. To remove comments: 'Any:Any' #Zoom

Top-left of TextEdit on a mac after cmd f has been selected. The dropdown next the magnifier has been picked, and 'insert pattern' at the bottom of the menu is being clicked by the mouse.

A zoom chat text file shown in TextEdit with the details blurred out. In the top search bar the following search pattern has been entered: ##:##:##[blankspace]Any:

The Replace checkbox has been been ticked and the 'replace' text entry field has been left empty. The replace all button is being selected to remove all the occurrences that match the pattern added in the last step.

Repeating the same steps in TextEdit, this shows the cmd f > 'insert pattern' again. This time it is to remove the comments and emojis'. The pattern for that is Any:Any.

You may remember me from 'that bird site' of yore. I went to Mastodon, I'm still there (toot.community/deck/@fmacne...). I resisted adding another platform, because since moving from HE to corporate I had to invest time in LinkedIn...However, LinkedIn doesn't love you back... is it different here?
