It's true, but we've only been hacking this technology for 30-40 years, and the results have been staggering. So never say never. (Graph source: rmi.org/resources/th...)
Graph showing battery cost and energy density over time, 1981-2023. Cost (in $/kWh) is trending asymptotically towards zero on this scale while energy density (Wh/kg) is starting to show exponential growth since roughly 2010.

Sure, I'll buy it. Not moving to California, tho. 12axes.vercel.app
My Ideological Profile. Listing "Green Liberalism" at 97% and saying I'm most at home in California (doubtful) and I most identify with Justin Trudeau (out of the available options, probably...)

Holy shit, I just googled it. That is a statement, man. I didn't think we were doing #brutalism anymore. It's practically Soviet. (To be clear, I kinda love it. But I don't have to live with it).
A skyline render of the finished Obama presidential library in context from the official website. It kinda looks like a huge marble boulder on its side in the middle of a golf course.

Trekkies: If you see this post your first experience with Star Trek.
Short clip from the episode "Operation: Annihilate!" featuring Kirk, Spock, a redshirt and Yeoman Zahra, crouching to avoid weird fried egg monsters, one of which detaches itself from a wall and flies unconvincingly towards the camera.

I imagine it would be a bit cheaper to buy this junkyard, which would let you expand the park to West Ave and maybe give space for a sports field or two.

@kyledanderson.bsky.social Okay, it maybe didn't start out of a YouTube series (because 1980s), but Record of the Lodoss War turned a D&D campaign into various media and then anime series before it was cool. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Record_...
Screenshot of a nerdist.com article: "We don't need to tell you how popular Critical Role is. Name another show that started as a group of friends playing Dungeons & Dragons that spawned full-length animated series. (You maybe could, but Critical Role did it first."

The game that I pretty much settled on as *my* game through highschool was GURPS. I was mostly in it for the space adventures, but I also ran a Cyberpunk game at one point. And I absolutely loved reading the sourcebooks. Great stuff.
Cover art for the hardback edition of Steve Jackson's GURPS (Generic Universal RolePlaying System) Basic Set Third Edition. it's got a scantly clad sourceress, some mohawked punk dude and a heavily armoured space guy each in their own literal bubbles floating in literal space. So good.

The first game I ran was FASA Doctor Who. Of course. I had a bunch of the minis for that too. I was particularly into the idea of playing a team of CIA operative Time Lords and going around solving mysteries, but I wasn't a particularly good GM aged 11 or so. So this didn't really go anywhere.
Box artwork for the FASA Doctor Who role-playing game, with the Fourth Doctor and Leela at the centre of a spiral galaxy and a little Tardis fliying out of it with the words "ADVENTURES THROUGH TIME AND SPACE" trailing after.

Or it might have been FASA Star Trek. I know we played at least once, but I don't have a strong memory of it. I *do* remember getting a bunch of the little lead starship minis. I loved those. They kinda fell a part, tho. And I had very poor paint techniques. But I loved them.

My friend Bill got into RPGs at some point in middle school. Not sure how, but he roped me in. I'm not sure what we played first. It might have been the TMNT RPG. I played a hamster. (I hadn't settled on the flying squirrel thing yet).

I'm thinking about this… I got introduced to #ttrpgs by my next door neighbour's grandson who'd fly in from Calgary. I was 8. I don't think he was much older. We didn't know what we were doing, but he somehow convinced me to roll up a Basic D&D character and we beat up some goblins or something.

You know, I had to hit up Wikipedia. I'm familiar with a few of the hockey players, but don't really have anything against them. Don't know much about about the Australian footballers or, surprisingly, Brazilian footballers. The American actresses seem nice enough. So... winx.fandom.com/wiki/Darcy

Stylized Christmas tree made up of what looks like a neon blue printed circuit board on a black background. There's a blue star on top with out-of-forcus blue snowflakes all around.
