I cannot express how sad I am that David Lynch has passed away. One of a kind, never replicable. Perfect, singular voice, unimpeachable filmography.

I've spent most of November and December devouring the German-produced Edgar Wallace mystery films, commonly called Krimi. They are a blast, macabre humor, wild set pieces, and a charming repertory of actors. 25 in two months, is that too many? Here's a taste. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhTi...

Not that I’ve spent much time thinking about whether Edie Brickell was right but I actually do think I’m aware of too many things.

My wife and I are about to enter our fifth straight calendar year of IVF attempts and not one penny of it has been covered by insurance. This system is irredeemable.

Sorry to Brady Corbet but I simply don’t have it in me in 2024 to watch a 3.5 hour movie about concrete blocks.

Hollywood "scoop" getters, who find out casting for giant franchise movies prior to the studios announcing them, most of the time act like they're Woodward & Bernstein. In actuality, they basically just tell you what you're getting for Christmas in two years. "Oh...cool, thanks?"

Even taking into account that it's a weird sham awards ceremony based on bribery and hobnobbery, this year's Golden Globe nominations are a mess.

As we head into the end of 2024, I want to share some of the videos I made with @atommurray.bsky.social that I'm super proud of, starting with this complete, confusing history of regeneration in Doctor Who. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoCY...

Finished Miller and Janson's Daredevil and it friggin' owned. Now I'm staying in the family of red superheroes by starting Mark Waid's run on THE FLASH. Never read any Wally West stories, to my utter shame.

Including: Superior Spider-Man by Slott Hawkeye by Fraction and Aja Uncanny X-Force by Remender Man-Thing by Gerber Guardians/Galaxy by Abnett and Lanning Moon Knight by Lemire Now, Miller's DD.

I mostly buy X-Men figures from Marvel Legends, but I’ll always get cool comics-style figures, so if you think I didn’t immediately pre-order Blade and Luke Cage you are SORELY MISTAKEN.

010

Kyle D Anderson @kyledanderson.bsky.social · 15/07/2023

I’ve spent the last few months devouring the Krakoa-era X-MEN books and I love them so, so much. Very much got me back into regular comics. I just finished AXE Judgment Day, it’s great. That’s it, just gushing about the incredible work happening at Marvel on that line.

This is absolutely repugnant. Using poverty and destitution as a way to strongarm unions into accepting whatever is blatantly anti-worker. Corporations are crooked as fuck and I hope they burn for this. deadline.com/2023/07/writers-strike…

I like to think Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, and Don Cheadle got together before SECRET INVASION started and said "The script isn't good, but for fun do you wanna do the best acting of our careers?" and they all agreed.
