We are using Fluxer's software to create our own instance. We cater specifically to a pro-furry, pro-lgbt, pro-kink crowd and all of our user's data is self-hosted by like-minded folks on hardware owned by another like-minded host. We want to provide a reliably friendly space.

We will be performing emergency maintenance at 5:00 PM CDT. Fluxer has updated their mobile clients to utilize a new captcha system which is causing mobile to fail to verify during login. We need to update our instance to support it. We will go down for approximately 30 minutes, but up to 1 hour.

Sometimes browser privacy plugins still affect things even if they're disabled momentarily, for some reason or another. I've had a similar issue with the Disconnect plugin with captcha and it drove me crazy. Try a private browser session with no plugins enabled and see if it works? - Admin

Mobile clients do support 3rd party instances, but you've just gotta select "connect to alternate instance" at the bottom of the login screen and then specify "fluxfur.com". Eventually, hopefully very soon, that'll be the same for the desktop client.

Hi! We're just an instance; not a hard fork. The issue you're experiencing is because the desktop app doesn't support 3rd party instances *yet* (though there are workarounds), but the feature is apparently ready to ship and will be available soon. We've all been using the web app + mobile clients

We use the Fluxer software, and are therefore tied to their clients. We're hearing that the Fluxer desktop app is about to get a big update that will support 3rd party instances, and that the work is done and ready to be pushed out. We are very excited for that.

That link is hardcoded into the fluxer software at the moment. We DO use their apps (mobile apps support selection 3rd party instance addresses on the login screen), but their *desktop* app does not officially support us *yet*. Software updating has left us with a non-critical bug - one that we'd like to fix BEFORE we open registration to avoid critical confusion. Our services are up and operational, but we are going to push back registration by -just a few hours- and aim for Sunday afternoon, specifically.

Update on this: After some discussion, we're actually going to REMOVE the time limit and limit registration to 4000 members. We don't expect to hit that many, but we'll see how things go. ETA in a few hours
