Replaced as they failed - all rebuilds have gone without issues - however, I have very deliberately always kept rebuild rate at a "Low" speed to not stress the drives too much. The expected Read-Error-Rates for such big arrays is why I went with RAID6 - to add extra resilience for read error rates.

And you definitely don't want to use a high-powered 532nm green laser, because it can permanently burn and disable digital camera CMOS or CCD sensors. Green light is absorbed at a very high efficiency by these electronic sensors, meaning concentrated beams easily melt or overload the pixel array.

In the current world it is getting increasingly harder to avoid GenAI unfortunately. This also counts for devs buying asset packs - at least they did the right thing: Disclose, admit the mistake, and work to replace the GenAI slop with Real Art. I support your choice to still feature the game.

My dishwasher does not have a pre-wash compartment for detergent. However, the manual explicitly states that for pre-wash you just dump a bit of detergent directly in the machine. It still does pre-wash, and you can hear the main detergent holder open approximately 15-20 minutes into the cycle.

Ik gaf gisteren een praatje in Leiden voor Hogeschool Leiden, LUMC, Naturalis en de Universiteit Leiden. En dit is toch wel een heel belangrijk punt. De cloud is geen streng gereguleerde waterleiding waar je veilig op kunt rekenen!

Bert op een podium voor een slide waarop staat 'We behandelen de cloud alsof het een streng gereguleerde nutsvoorziening is. Maar zo ziet het 100% niet'

Very valid and good for a mental break from the otherwise relentless stream of notifications demanding attention. I only have a three "social" apps on my phone and those have been restricted in how many notifications they can generate. Makes it a lot easier to just "be in the moment".

After a back and forth with support: Nope, they are not bringing the feature back. They've changed chipsets used in these devices and those don't support custom radio stations. This likely also explains why the quality of my device does not align with all the reviews. It's an Expensive Paperweight.

Technology enshittification: Get a Denver MIR-270 internet radio because it has, or well, had, a feature to add your own custom internet radio stations. The unit arrived today with the latest firmware and lo-and-behold: The one and only feature I got the damn thing for got removed from firmware. 😡
