You can see why Hegseth and his flunkies didn't like jawdropping details like this one, from Korte's final Stars and Stripes story, about US Navy evacuees from Bahrain. www.stripes.com/branches/nav...
In one instance, early in the war, a mass text message went out to evacuees directing them to contact the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, a nonprofit that aims to assist military families during emergencies.

However, when one spouse called the phone number listed in the announcement, they were connected with the National Bank of Canada, the spouse

said.

I see the cookers are whining about today's student protests across Australia. I think it's good to see them being educated about civics, the right to protest, and free speech. It's a great way to get them thinking about the rights that Australian culture depends on. #auspol

I've had to unfriend a few fans lately, all for the same reason. They made ridiculing, unkind, and in some cases outright cruel comments about pictures I posted of young women cosplaying Jessica.
More than a person, Jessica is a state of mind. To play Jessica, you need self -confidence, a sense of humor, and a Jessican -attitude-. There is no such thing as a Jessica cosplayer being too short, too flat chested, too heavy, too thin, too unattractive, too black, too Asian, or even too male!!! All Jessica, any Jessica, every Jessica is good Jessica.
I'm not giving any warnings or second chances. A single disparaging comment on a Jessica cosplayer, and I'm throwing you out of the rainbow colored Toontown Tent.

This post went viral recently on IG/FB because it was blowing Gen Z minds that this is how jobs used to work. And this is precisely how we were able to have such helpful store weirdos: Being a vacuum cleaner weirdo at Sears was a legit lifelong career!
Facebook post by Mike Callahan: "When I worked at Sears in the early 90's, the people there built entire lives off those jobs. The guy running appliances had three kids, coached little league every weekend, and retired after 32 years with a pension. One of the women in customer service bought her first house working full-time there, and the older guy in hardware took the same vacation to the Ozarks every summer because he could actually afford to unplug for a
week. The managers knew everybody by name, the Christmas bonuses actually meant something, and the store was packed every holiday season because business was booming. Nobody thought they were "stuck" working retail - it was honest
work that paid enough to live with dignity. Somewhere along the way, corporations started making record profits while the people keeping
the place running could barely afford rent. When exactly did a steady fuil-time job stop being
enough to build a normal life?"

Anti-vaccers are fundamentally wrong about placebo-controlled trials
Anti-vaxxers love to demand placebo-controlled trials and insist that nothing else will suffice for demonstrating vaccine safety. This approach to medical research is flawed for a number of reasons…
