Why is github always having issues when I am trying to build?

Same here. I was so intrigued by the format then I realized it was the main purpose of the thread.

There is something inherently satisfying to see your obsidian repo, and see the remaining work to be done visually. The "garden" metaphor is really true here

I am wrestling with claude to "distill and weave" 6K+ articles that I have stored on pocket then @readwise.bsky.social for the last... 15 years ?

C'est super dommage parce que c'était une référence d'indépendance en Europe. Et j'aimerai bien comprendre pourquoi indépendance + payant ça finit souvent en tolérance pour l'extrême droite.

I don’t understand why people are so angry at the @bsky.app team all the time. We get a free product with an architecture that enables taking wildly different decisions if we want to and get the same community. That is wild and great.

Most successful consumer products have to be opinionated because otherwise your users have to fight hundreds of configuration decisions before starting to get value. And few people have the patience for that. The beauty of Bluesky is that you can build your own differently-opinionated version.

If a Mac mini can do it… a mbp probably can. But remote with « local heavy » work. Or you can try renting a supercharged VPS for a month to see if some of the local work can be done remotely (but macOS apps won’t work)

Flowian @flowian.bsky.social · 23/04/2026
New MBP. Otherwise the local work (file indexing, inference) done by some apps like cursor will always be an issue. The latency will be a pain. Bonus : you get to use your old mbp for some remote solutions

After almost twenty years on the platform, EFF is logging off of X. This isn’t a decision we made lightly, but it might be overdue.

The line that stayed with me after: choosing your tools is a political act. Not metaphorically. The subscription you pay, the model you default to, the dependency you accept — that's a design decision about your own mind.

The best framework for thinking about AI and suality is not automation theory. It's restaurant vs homemade food. Homemade tart for friends ≠ opening a restaurant. Same ingredient, completely different ambition. Most people using AI don't know which one they're cooking.

Crawl entire websites with a single API call using Browser Rendering
Browser Rendering's new /crawl endpoint lets you submit a starting URL and automatically discover, render, and return content from an entire website as HTML, Markdown, or structured JSON.

Classic arms dealer move, actually. Sell defense to one side, offense to the other. Collect on both. Stay neutral. The only way to lose is if the war ends.

Philosopher Ivan Illich called it radical monopoly — not market dominance, but when you can't meet a need without going through the institution. When the shield and the scraper are the same company, what does opting out even mean?

Flowian @flowian.bsky.social · 11/03/2026
The crawl product is explicitly marketed for AI training data. Meaning: Cloudflare will shield your content from scrapers, and simultaneously sell someone else the tool to scrape it.

Flowian @flowian.bsky.social · 11/03/2026
Cloudflare launched /crawl this week. One API call, full site scraped, no browser management. They've also been selling the bot protection that would block exactly that.

I'm not saying GenAI is a revolution. I'm just saying that up until last week I had never written more than 2 lines of LaTeX. I have now written 2 professional documents in important contexts. And I am starting to see why some people are addicted.

Three quadrants survive. Very different physics in each. Most software companies don't know which one they're in. Some don't know there are quadrants. For what it's worth, I now know which one I'm going for. Full piece: www.bleuprint.eu/scale-or-cra...

The death of the interface moat reveals something underneath. Two axes that were always there, masked by switching costs: what you accumulate (scale) and what you stand behind (craft). I can't decide if most builders know which one they're in.

Flowian @flowian.bsky.social · 27/02/2026
In my opinion the diagnosis is slightly different : Software that hid behind switching costs is being repriced. Then we get to ask : but repriced to what?

We've all heard "SaaS is dead" enough times. Recently I read multiple people developing something more specific: Nicolas Bustamante from the software side, Ben Thompson from the hardware side, @johnonolan.bsky.social about open source. Different starting points. Same direction.
