it takes -so much effort- to NOT find a drawing of Hellboy by Mike Mignola. There's more pictures of Hellboy by Mike Mignola than paintings of Jesus.

I'd love to do Inktober, but I'd hate it

Look, I'm enjoying Lanterns fine. But- if I, a dumbass, realise immediately that Hal was keeping Sinestro on his own prison planet and they should be keeping an eye on the grandson of a manhunter... Two highly-trained expert characters shouldn't take so long

But at that point comic artists would have been similar to an office job, whereas he would have appeared pompous straight off the bat due to his success? And they wouldn't have known it was stolen, so, I just... I just don't know how people's brains came to any of the conclusions about this loser

Flops! @flopscomics.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

How do you talk at length about an artist's work when it's based on another artist's drawing? You can't talk about form or composition, because someone else came up with it. With Lichtenstein, all you can comment on is his use of dots- How the fuck did people have enough words to make him famous?

Honestly I'm gonna keep working on this idea and then pitch it to the official folks, I feel like the world needs it haha

Batman Day! I was very, very lucky recently to get to do a variant for Batman & Robin Year One: Dynamic Duos... There's still some copies in my bio link and they're shipping very soon!

I didn't even consider there'd be a party, oh no

Flops! @flopscomics.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Each update must have been so insane for you to experience! I just found out I can use creative mode and then switch to regular mode once I've built the things I want... Even that on its own is such a nice idea, never mind everything else they've done

120

Flops! @flopscomics.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

oh my good god why was that not the first thought in my stupid fucking head!? That's gonna be so fun- I've seen a ton of people making their ships look like Star Wars/GOTG vehicles and that's 10 years of content for me alone

110

Flops! @flopscomics.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

oh yeah I'm making sure that I've got a time limit, it would be SO easy to lose an entire day on it! The possibilities are truly bonkers

Flops! @flopscomics.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

I've had nothing but respect for all these years, but now that I'm actually playing it... I think they're all insane. I'm planning out how to build a Batcave under a cyberpunk city on a tatooine-style planet.. how are we at this level of videogames??

110

Flops! @flopscomics.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

I'm hooked because I'm all about building! I was never interested in aimlessly floating, but the latest update includes building space stations, cities, ships, all sorts of stuff to keep me going

cripes I'm blown away that so many people who buy my comics even had this on their radar! Looking forward to seeing what you think of the book

wise! the lowdown is that weird guy who runs it has made it possible for people who've got bestiality on their record to join the force. Because he believes lots of the people applying have been forced to do it against their will and it shouldn't impact their career applications. Psychotic

Flops! @flopscomics.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Does America still have a weird crowd that has problems with face masks? I live a life of solitude and my trip to NY next month is my first time around people in ages (never mind a crowd), and I refuse to catch a flu

It's pretty much their main thing, besides the armour, so showing us a Warpsmith without armour and without the extra nostrils, that's... just... anybody

uh I've been drawing in a retro style professionally for 16 years this month and uhhhhhhhh I think that amount of time means it just IS retro now? fuck?

I should add that I'm happy that the reason I'm broke is paying artists

0160

Flops! @flopscomics.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I'm broke because I've spent all year hiring artists for projects that I've had to keep delaying, but October will bring a whole new day and I can't wait to show everyone what I've been cooking up

I'm testing out replacing 'I's with 'L's to see if that stops them being able to read. I've just followed you on instagram if you can handle contacting on there! My BS doesn't have DMs

So confusing for me. Mike Moran kept appearing in Hellspawn but I couldn't follow what happened/where he ended up! Marvel's one-shot had a short story with an xtreme homage to this version with added chains.. It was fun/silly but felt spiteful

110

Flops! @flopscomics.bsky.social · 31/08/2026

Even ignoring the controversy, both references felt SUPER FORCED. Hal Jordan talking about Hogwarts made me cringe like they were forced to make meme-bait

I'm rarely jealous of other artists, I always think "everyone is different"... but that goes straight out the window any time I see Angela post anything

That's the vibe I got from this place! Through the made-up furniture and faux-sheen I could see tiny slivers of dirt that didn't get covered up

Last chance to get my variant for Black Fury BRASIL, a comic I'm insanely excited about! It's going to be such a beast

This post is anti-that: If I steal books from a library and sell them in my bookstore, would that be a business I should be proud of?

100

but that's what I do. would you ask a bird to stop singing

Flops! @flopscomics.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

You'll hear "I regret not turning my idea into a comic" a LOT more than anyone who regrets their comics. Whatever skill level, whatever budget, just do what you can

hold up the person I replied to was aggressively demanding information from a post they refused to read so I gave the information to them and got blocked

110

Flops! @flopscomics.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

-Someone helpfully posted something with tags and links that explain what they're talking about -After looking at those, the video makes sense -It was then explained to you: It is a network of connected apps that people can optionally use with their Bluesky login. =You have all of the information

000

Flops! @flopscomics.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

you don't have to question what you choose not to answer

100

Flops! @flopscomics.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

If you look at the post, the person tags and links everything they're talking about. And then provides a demo... It looks like a network of other optional apps and tools for Bluesky users to optionally use with their Bluesky login, depending on their own personal interests.

Eons ago, I did some Warhammer illustrations for the amazing @wyrdscience.bsky.social magazine and thought to myself "I used to love painting 40K when I was a kid, I should buy some". ...Anyway I finally did and immediately discovered that my eyes and fingers don't work the way they used to

Flops! @flopscomics.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

That is an -insane- screenshot to have kept all those years, what the fuck haha Was this a meme or something? Making up over the top perversions? I know I was getting wild requests back then but nothing at that level

Crazy news to share- I teamed up with DC for this Batman & Robin: Year One Dynamic Duos cover! I love anything Waid & Samnee produce, I love Catwoman, I love Batman, this was a dream. It's out Monday, and you can get updates in my bio!
