Increasingly, I have seen folks who released music through GameChops distance themselves from the label and express a desire to re-distro outside of it. But there's a cost involved in that which many musicians may not be able to cover. So, fuck it, let me put my money where my mouth is.

white text on black background that reads "music re-distribution financial relief fund. since just because a label done borked up that doesn't mean your music should disappear."

white text on black background that reads "what this is: an offer to provide financial aid to help cover the costs involved in re-distribution of tracks outside a label. even if every track is only five bucks to put a track through distro independently, that adds up after an album or so. i'm putting my money where my mouth is and seeding this with $250 to start. if you would like to add to that, my DMs are open - let's chat."

white and other light colored text on black background that reads "what this is not: anything beyond financial aid. I cannot help you clear licensing. I cannot help you secure proper licenses if you need something beyond a basic compulsory mechanical license. I cannot help you re-mix or re-master a track (though I can put you in touch with people who can). I cannot help you get out of any contracts you may have had with a label as far as who owns what."

white text on black background that reads "your music matters. Let's not let label ownership tomfoolery fuck it up. DMs are open."

I too will assist with licensing costs for ex-GameChops musicians needing to re-license tracks – without the expectation of participation in or contracting with GameGrooves. I will commit $1,000 of my own funds to the task. DM me as needed.

piracy is culture-building. file sharing is pro social. it is good to send your friends links and files and zips and pdfs and stuff. some of the tightest knit most incredible fighting game communities are built around pirated games and downloaded roms and this is not an accident its a feature

Reminder that DJ Cutman runs a Suno AI slop farm called “Snuggle Bunch”, aimed specifically at children. The same man that publicly denounced the use of gen AI, yet has been actively using it for monetary gain (as recently as last week)

the bay area unfortunately is filled with AI slop outside of art spaces. gotta let the people know!

A sign pinned to the Infloresce Records booth that reads, “All of our music and art is human-made. We reject the use of generative AI in our creative process.”

Ideation has very nearly taken my life twice as of the present date, and I'd be lost without a lifeline intervention. So I'm getting some steps in for World Suicide Prevention day, walking for 9 people lost to suicide every day. Any dono amount helps: www.outoftheshadowswalk.org.au/fundraisers/...

Support my 18km walk to prevent suicide and change lives.

I'm walking in Out of the Shadows for Lifeline to ensure no one has to face their darkest moments alone.
