Look, I tried to do a piece to camera to promote my new crime novel which is out tomorrow. I just looked unbelievably anxious and for some reason, was talking like Theresa May. So instead, I am allowing my dog Ellroy to promote it for me. He's very engaged, as you can see. #DeathonHollyIsland

I've just been doing edits on a very tricky psychological thriller. It was like filleting a pike with mittens on. I've now returned to the snowy Christmas mystery I'm writing for next year, and it's like sinking into a warm bathp. I love all my characters so much. Even the murderous ones.
