also a lot of musical concepts are *way* simpler and way more intuitive than the terms make them sound if you only read a bit into it like the average person probably understands time signatures and chord extensions, they just dont know the words for those ideas

i'd say the big thing to learn is intervals and scales, a lot of stuff in music comes from notes and how they interact with each other if you know intervals and scales then a lot of the rest will come quite naturally
