Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 02/10/2026There is good density, and bad density. And then there’s really really bad density! 411
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Thanks! Having come from a high school that had no hockey teams, and kids that never played hockey, I am not familiar with what’s normal. I do worry about accessibility of tryouts for everyone, but I guess $100 is nothing compared to what else you need to play hockey. 100
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Kids have to pay to tryout for school teams now? Did I just miss this as a regular thing? 222
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I’m assuming as well, but if the hundreds of other cities who have gone through this already is an indication, they will need to. 000
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I’m persnickety, so I’m not a fan of private companies just making use of public land as they like. At a minimum there should be a corporate rental fee for “temporary use” of public land, with clear rules on what areas can be used, and what can’t. 001
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Some of the most basic things I’d like to see as part of municipal licensing are a cap on number of scooters, and a requirement for 1 hour or less removal (by the company) for any improperly parked scooters, or have escalating fines. 110
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 13/09/2026While they are convenient for some people, they also cause a lot of problems when not regulated, including accessibility issues. Most cities who have dockless rentals have moved to designed drop off/pick up spots. We should learn from the issues already experienced and fixed elsewhere. 131
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I consider your reporting as “non judgemental informing”. Which is great, and something I could never do! 100
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Other cities went through this 5 years ago, and generally eliminated the “abuse public areas with our trash” model. I wonder what if any involvement the city had in permitting it, or are they just behind and need to catch up? 110
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Oh great, we got one of those trashy scooter rental companies in Fredericton now, where they just get left around all over the place. 451
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 31/08/2026I’m stilll surprised no one else is upset that NB has completely handed over control of our recycling to a company owned by the largest and worse polluters in the country. There seems to be no oversight or input on what and how they recycle. 001
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 26/06/2026Until Horizon pays nurses and other staff a premium for being bilingual, I don’t see this changing. Being bilingual is a qualification like anything else. It’s important, and takes time and effort to achieve, pay for it! 030

Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 15/06/2026I may have on occasion renamed a random junk file to .ppt, and sent that for the deadline. My expectation is that no one will actually open until a day or two before. “Oops that must have got corrupt in transfer”. So far only failed once. 020
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 13/06/2026That’s an interesting place to fly direct to Fredericton. I’m nosy and want to know who they are. 120
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 11/06/2026Ah, I’ll miss chatting on Maple to a random NP in BC while they also talk to 3 to 5 other patients. Will I miss it enough to pay Maple $89 a month? 010
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 11/06/2026If someone illegally dumps things in my dumpster, and that includes some cool old Fredericton pictures, I think I’m ok to post them. Yes? No? 190

Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 10/06/2026The part I do like is “Holt is also calling for that legislation to ban targeted ads directed toward minors, and restrict social media feeds that are based on algorithms for them.” But that should be for everyone, not just for minors. It should also go further to cover things like snap streaks. 020
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 10/06/2026I’d MUCH rather governments properly regulate social media than age bans. - Implementing age bans are often ineffective, as kids get around them anyway. - Big tech are more than happy to add more data collection as you prove your age. Instead regulate the specific problems. 173

Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 03/06/2026I’ll die on the hill that “absenteeism” does not include valid absences; such as sick time, non-school activities, bereavement, family time, etc… Definitions that ignore that are highly manipulative, non-inclusive, misogynistic and should not be amplified by our government. Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 31/05/2026I’m kinda disappointed they are planning to pave Woodstock Road this week. With the top layer of asphalt stripped it has slowed down the guys on sport bikes who drive recklessly at 120km/h and are for some reason exempt from traffic laws. 010
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 25/05/2026My coworkers noticed ONB has a cape for award winners, so now I’m getting grief for our lack of company cape policies. 220

Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 14/05/2026Given the techno-slop hodgepodge of apps used in schools currently that no one wants (yeah school cash online.. 🤮), and a vapid empty tech curriculum, I have zero faith this will be anything but trash. 020
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 13/05/2026I find it hilarious (and sad) that my 12 year old daughter is comfortable going to lunch downtown with just her and 2 friends, but grown adults are terrified if they see a rough looking person 50 feet away. 1120
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 12/05/2026He certainly has voluminous output, but I would respectively suggest he needs less mansplaining and more actual discussion. If he could do that, and address his highly partisan, obsessively ideological twitter history, it would be a good start for building community trust. 010
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 12/05/2026Given the progressive composition of Ward 10, I would have been really surprised if someone with such a strong conservative background could win. Plus years of negative twitter engagement certainly didn’t help. 130

Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 06/05/2026For accelerating development they should have a fixed time frame to finish after purchase (say 4 years). If not the property goes back to the province. At a minimum, after a grace period they should have to pay a reasonable property tax for the property, not the current massively reduced amount. 120
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 06/05/2026I’d rather have something that has long term community value than short term fixes that won’t provide lasting value. It also should be public information who all the investors in “Centennial Heritage Properties Inc.” are, and what their connections are to current and former governments. 120
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 01/05/2026Any discussion needs to start with a proper use of the word absenteeism: “the practice of regularly staying away from work or school without good reason.” If there is a good reason, like physically sick, mental health, travelling for events, etc… then it’s not absenteeism! 180

Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 21/04/2026Priority 5 continued… - Align taxation with the idea that community-created land value; created by roads, transit, services, parks, and surrounding growth, is more valuable than private building effort. 000
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 21/04/2026Priority 5: Shift tax burden away from buildings and toward land value. - Tax land value more heavily than buildings. (reduces penalty for adding housing, renovating, or building more intensively on a site.) 1 of 2 100
Danny Neville @flederdude.bsky.social · 21/04/2026Priority 4: Prioritize net zero, Passive House, and municipal environmental policy together. - Make low-carbon construction a procurement rule - Link building policy to climate adaptation - Treat neighbourhoods, not individual buildings, as a planning unit 100
