Ok I'm both now that I think about it as a girl who first read Studs Terkel by my own choice at 16 but this is the kind of shit that drew me to humanities and what keeps me coming back. But also was never gonna be an academic

Quasi related but there are actually marked shifts basically split right down the millennial generation and I won't draw any conclusions but I have noticed it. Here's an example from the most recent Yale Youth Poll
Chart from the Yale Youth Poll spring 2026 detailing how liberal voters in different age brackets are. Respondents age 30-34 ID as extremely liberal at a rate of 24% compared to 11% for 35-44.

This was in the burbs but one of my favorite local stories ever www.cbsnews.com/pittsburgh/n...
Screenshot from CBS Pittsburgh article which reads "The group consists of more than 20 turkeys and according to neighbors, the turkeys have become increasingly more aggressive toward people who enter the area.

"They just strut their stuff through the neighborhood like they own it," Daurora said."

Maybe it's just me being a nerd but I keep reading The Second Coming trying to memorize it, and these lines haunt me because I just never spoke up online about anything and it ended up being so important even if it does actually suck as well. and I'm not thinking that anyone is just waiting to hear
excerpt from The Second Coming, two lines reading: The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

I was a creative writing major and logic nerd and ended up writing poems that were in logical language, behold my insufferable 21 y/o mind (in improper formatting)
